The nine successive absorptions have not been heard or cultivated, and the doors of liberation, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, have not been heard or cultivated, and the superknowledges have not been heard or cultivated, and the samādhis have not been heard or cultivated, and the doors of dhāraṇīs have not been heard or cultivated, and the powers of the Tathāgata have not been heard or cultivated, and the fearlessnesses have not been heard or cultivated, and the individual correct knowledges have not been heard or cultivated, and great love has not been heard or cultivated, and great compassion has not been heard or cultivated, and the Buddha's unshared dharmas have not been heard or cultivated, and the knowledge of all things has not been heard or cultivated, and the knowledge of the aspects of the path has not been heard or cultivated, and the knowledge of all aspects has not been heard or cultivated. Kauśika, for these reasons, like this, among the sentient beings of Jambudvīpa, those who possess unwavering faith in the Buddha, those who possess unwavering faith in the Dharma, and those who possess unwavering faith in the Saṅgha are few. Even fewer are those who have attained the three doors of liberation. Even fewer are those who have attained the eight liberations. Even fewer are those who have attained the nine successive absorptions. Even fewer are those who have attained the four individual correct knowledges. Even fewer are those who have attained the six superknowledges. Even fewer are those among the people of Jambudvīpa who have become stream-enterers due to abandoning the three fetters. Even fewer are those who have become once-returners due to the weakening of attachment, hatred, and delusion. Even fewer are those who have become non-returners due to abandoning the five lower fetters. Even fewer are those who have become Arhats due to abandoning the five higher fetters. Even fewer are those among the people of Jambudvīpa who have become those who have rightly entered into self-awakening. Even fewer are those who have rightly entered into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete awakening. Even fewer are those who practice the conduct of awakening with pure intention. Kauśika, it should be known that this is very rare. Kauśika, let alone humans! How is that?
