Chapter Eighteen: The Chapter on Fully Embracing Qualities Chapter Eighteen: The Chapter on Fully Embracing Qualities Then, the Blessed One said to Indra, the Lord of the Gods: Kausika, whether it is a son of good family or a daughter of good family, who holds, recites, comprehends, chants, and properly contemplates this profound Prajnaparamita, when he is in battle, when he goes to the battlefield, if that son of good family or daughter of good family recites this profound Prajnaparamita and goes forth, then that son of good family or daughter of good family will not be defeated, will not be eaten by demons, and will be victorious. After being victorious, he will escape from that battle unharmed. Kausika, whether it is a son of good family or a daughter of good family, who chants this profound Prajnaparamita and goes to the battlefield, it is impossible for him to lose his life because of it, there is no such possibility. If someone shoots him with an arrow, or strikes him with a weapon, his body will not be hit, nor will it be pierced. Why is that? Because that son of good family or daughter of good family has long practiced the six Paramitas, relied on this Prajnaparamita, meditated on this Prajnaparamita, he has destroyed his own arrow of desire and weapon of desire, and also destroyed the arrow of desire and weapon of desire of others; destroyed his own arrow of hatred and weapon of hatred, and also destroyed the arrow of hatred and weapon of hatred of others; destroyed his own arrow of delusion and weapon of delusion, and also destroyed the arrow of delusion and weapon of delusion of others; destroyed his own arrow of views and weapon of views, and also destroyed the arrow of views and weapon of views of others; destroyed his own arrow of arising and weapon of arising, and also destroyed the arising of others. Even if someone strikes him with a weapon, or poisons him, or throws him into the water, all these will not harm him. Why is that? Kausika, because this Prajnaparamita is a great mantra of knowledge. Kausika, just like this.
