Therefore, it is called transcendental. Son of Sharadvati, endowed with life, the perfection of diligence is also worldly and transcendental. What is the worldly perfection of diligence? Son of Sharadvati, endowed with life, here, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva initiates diligence, and also initiates by abiding in it. He thinks thus: I do not initiate diligence for the sake of all sentient beings. This is the body. This is the mind. This is diligence. I will act according to the Buddha's teachings. I will practice the perfection of diligence. And, in a non-attached manner, this diligence is done in common with all sentient beings, and dedicated to the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. May these sentient beings, through the fruit of my diligence, attain happiness in this very life, and may they be completely liberated from suffering without any attachment. He dedicates in this way, and clings to the perception of self, the perception of others, the perception of diligence, and clings to these three things, and initiates diligence. This is called the worldly perfection of diligence. Therefore, because it does not waver, jump, or transcend from the world, it is called worldly. So, what is the transcendental perfection of diligence? It is the complete purification of the three spheres. What is the complete purification of the three spheres? Son of Sharadvati, endowed with life, here, when the Bodhisattva Mahasattva initiates diligence, he does not fixate on himself, does not fixate on sentient beings, does not fixate on diligence, and does not rejoice in the ripening result. And, he bestows that diligence upon all sentient beings, and without fixating on those sentient beings, he dedicates it to the unexcelled perfect enlightenment, and does not even truly see the slightest sign. This is called the transcendental perfection of diligence. Therefore, because it wavers, jumps, and transcends from the world, it is called transcendental.
