O! Great compassion should be fully cultivated. The Buddha's unshared dharmas should be fully cultivated. Omniscience should be fully cultivated. Knowledge of the aspects of the path should be fully cultivated. All-knowingness should be fully cultivated. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the venerable Subhuti: "Venerable Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva cultivate the path to enlightenment when practicing the six perfections?" Subhuti said: "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, the perfection of generosity is both worldly and transcendental. The perfection of ethics is both worldly and transcendental. The perfection of patience is both worldly and transcendental. The perfection of diligence is both worldly and transcendental. The perfection of meditation is both worldly and transcendental. The perfection of wisdom is both worldly and transcendental." (Sharadvatiputra) said: "Venerable Subhuti, what is the worldly perfection of generosity? What is the transcendental perfection of generosity?"
