Giving away everything. To those who want a head, give away the head completely. To those who want eyes, give away the eyes completely. To those who want limbs and minor limbs, give away the limbs and minor limbs completely. To those who want flesh, blood, and bones, give away the flesh, blood, and bones completely. Also, abide and give away completely. Thinking thus: I am the giver. This is the receiver. This is the giving. I am without miserliness. I am a practitioner of giving. I am the one who gives away all possessions. The practitioner acts according to the Buddha's teachings. The practitioner practices the perfection of giving. Having given that giving, with a compassionate demeanor, share it with all sentient beings, and dedicate it to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. By this fruit of giving, may these sentient beings find happiness in this very life, and may they be completely liberated from suffering without attachment. Thus, completely dedicate it. Divide it into three parts, and give away that giving. What are the three? Like this, considering it as oneself, considering it as others, and considering it as giving, dividing it into these three, then give away those givings. This is called the worldly perfection of giving. Why? Because it does not waver, jump, or transcend from the world, therefore it is called the worldly perfection of giving. Then, what is the transcendental perfection of giving? Like this, the three spheres are completely pure. Then, what is the complete purity of the three spheres? O son of Sharadvati, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva gives alms, he does not fixate on himself, does not fixate on the receiver, does not fixate on the giving, and does not rejoice in the ripening result. O son of Sharadvati, this is the complete purity of the three spheres of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. O son of Sharadvati, furthermore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva gives away completely, and gives that giving to all sentient beings, and without fixating on those sentient beings,

Being completely without, completely dedicating to perfect and complete enlightenment, and not truly seeing even a slight mark, this, son of the venerable Sharadvati, is called the transcendent perfection of giving that transcends the world. Why is it called the transcendent perfection of giving that transcends the world? Because it is like this, shaking, leaping, and transcending from the world, therefore it is called the transcendent perfection of giving that transcends the world. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, there is also mundane and supramundane transcendent perfection of ethics. What is the mundane transcendent perfection of ethics? Son of the venerable Sharadvati, here, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva guards the ethics, and also guards it with stinginess, thinking, "I am guarding the ethics for the sake of all sentient beings. This is the essence of ethics. I am acting according to the Buddha's words," thus guarding the ethics, sharing it with all sentient beings in a clinging manner, and dedicating it to the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. "By this fruit of my ethics, may these sentient beings, without taking happiness in this very life, be completely extinguished." Thus dedicating, he clings to the notion of self, clings to the notion of others, clings to the ethics, and guards the ethics while being attached to these three. This is called the mundane transcendent perfection of ethics. Why is it called the mundane transcendent perfection of ethics? Because it is like this, not shaking, not leaping, not transcending from the world, therefore it is called mundane. What is the supramundane transcendent perfection of ethics? It is like this, the three circles are completely pure. What is the complete purity of the three circles? Son of the venerable Sharadvati, here, when the Bodhisattva Mahasattva guards the ethics, he does not cling to self, does not cling to sentient beings, does not cling to ethics, and does not rejoice in the ripened result, and gives that ethics to all sentient beings.

. Those sentient beings also aspire to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment in an imperceptible manner, and do not truly see any subtle characteristics. This is called the transcendent perfection of discipline. It is called transcendent because it shakes, leaps, and transcends the world in this way. Shariputra, the venerable, the perfection of patience is both worldly and transcendent. So, what is the worldly perfection of patience? Shariputra, the venerable, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices patience, and practices with a greedy mind, thinking, 'I practice patience for the benefit of all sentient beings.' This is patience. Greed means acting according to the Buddha's teachings. In an imperceptible manner, he practices patience in common with all sentient beings, and aspires to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. And he fully aspires, saying, 'May these sentient beings, through the fruit of my patience, attain happiness in this life, and be free from suffering, quickly liberated from pain.' In this way, he clings to self, clings to others, clings to patience, and clings to the one who can endure. He clings and practices patience. This is called the worldly perfection of patience. It does not shake, leap, or transcend the world in this way, therefore it is called worldly. So, what is the transcendent perfection of patience? It is the complete purity of the three spheres. So, what is the complete purity of the three spheres? Shariputra, the venerable, here, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices patience, he does not perceive self, does not perceive sentient beings, does not perceive patience, and does not delight in the ripening result.
