Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the venerable Subhuti: "Venerable Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, how does he fully understand these dharmas? Venerable Subhuti, who is the Bodhisattva? What is the Perfection of Wisdom? What is the full understanding?" When he had said this, the venerable Subhuti said to the venerable Sharadvatiputra: "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, as it is said, 'Who is the Bodhisattva?' It is because sentient beings are enlightenment, therefore it is called Bodhisattva. That enlightenment also knows the aspects of all dharmas, but does not cling to those dharmas. If asked, 'What aspects of which dharmas does he know?' He knows the aspect of form, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of feeling, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of perception, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of formations, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of consciousness, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of the eye, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of the ear, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of the nose, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of the tongue, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of the body, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of the mind, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of form, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of sound, but does not cling to it. He knows the aspect of smell, but does not cling to it.
