Why is that? For example, if someone says that the name "Bodhisattva" is just a name, then, Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for example, the name "Bodhisattva" is just an adventitiously designated name. Therefore, for example, the name "Bodhisattva" is just a name. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for example, form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, these are just adventitiously designated names. Thus, a name does not come from anywhere, does not go anywhere, and does not abide anywhere. What is called "just a name" is not form, not feeling, not perception, not formation, not consciousness. Why is that? Thus, a name is empty by the nature of name. Whatever is emptiness is not a name. Therefore, for example, the name "Bodhisattva" is just a name. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for example, eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, these are just adventitiously designated names. Thus, a name does not come from anywhere, does not go anywhere, and does not abide anywhere. What is called "just a name" is not eye, not ear, not nose, not tongue, not body, not mind. Why is that? Thus, a name is empty by the nature of name. Whatever is emptiness is not a name. Therefore, for example, the name "Bodhisattva" is just a name. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for example, form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, and phenomena, these are just adventitiously designated names.

Yes, yes. What is the reason for that? Like this, name is empty by the nature of name. Whatever is emptiness is not name, therefore, like this, what is called Bodhisattva is just a name. Son of Sharadvati, endowed with life, like this, what is called eye consciousness, what is called ear consciousness, what is called nose consciousness, what is called tongue consciousness, what is called body consciousness, and what is called mind consciousness, these are names given suddenly. Like this, name does not come from anywhere, does not go anywhere, and does not stay anywhere.
