Because of being limitless. It is said that Bodhisattvas should know that everything is limitless, because, son of the venerable Sharadvati, the emptiness of all dharmas is equal to space. Why is that? For example, space has no beginning, no end, no middle, because it is limitless, everything is limitless, so it is called space. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, similarly, the emptiness of all dharmas, because it is emptiness, the emptiness of all dharmas has no beginning, no end, no middle, emptiness has no edge or middle. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, therefore, the emptiness of all dharmas is limitless, so Bodhisattvas should know that everything is limitless. Someone also says this, why? Because the emptiness of self-nature is all limitless, so it is said that Bodhisattvas should know that everything is limitless. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, the emptiness of self-nature is equal to space. Why is that?

Very well. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, for what reason? Because the emptiness of the nature of phenomena is all-pervading and infinite, a Bodhisattva should know it as all-pervading and infinite. Furthermore, for what reason? Because the emptiness of the nature of non-things is all-pervading and infinite, why is it said that a Bodhisattva should know it as all-pervading and infinite? Son of the venerable Sharadvati, the emptiness of the nature of non-things is equal to space. For what reason? For example, in space, the prior limit is not seen, the posterior limit is not seen, the middle is not seen, because it is infinite and all-pervading, it is called space. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, similarly, because the emptiness of the nature of non-things is emptiness, the prior limit of the emptiness of the nature of non-things is not seen, the posterior limit is not seen, the middle is not seen, because in emptiness, neither the limit nor the middle is seen. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, for what reason? Because the emptiness of the nature of non-things is all-pervading and infinite, a Bodhisattva should know it as all-pervading and infinite. Furthermore, for what reason? Because the mindfulness is all-pervading and infinite, why is it said that a Bodhisattva should know it as all-pervading and infinite? Son of the venerable Sharadvati, the mindfulnesses are equal to space. For what reason? For example, in space, the prior limit is not seen, the posterior limit is not seen, the middle is not seen, because it is infinite and all-pervading, it is called space. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, similarly, because the mindfulness is emptiness, the prior limit of the mindfulnesses is not seen, the posterior limit is not seen, the middle is not seen, because in emptiness, neither the limit nor the middle is seen. Son of the venerable Sharadvati, for what reason? Because the mindfulness is all-pervading and infinite, a Bodhisattva should know it as all-pervading and infinite. Furthermore, for what reason? Because the right exertion is all-pervading and infinite, a Bodhisattva is all-pervading and infinite.
