The virtuous friend is one who, when told that eye consciousness is secluded, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage, except for the sake of omniscience. The virtuous friend is one who, when told that ear consciousness is secluded, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage, except for the sake of omniscience. The virtuous friend is one who, when told that nose consciousness is secluded, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage, except for the sake of omniscience. The virtuous friend is one who, when told that tongue consciousness is secluded, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage. The virtuous friend is one who, when told that body consciousness is secluded, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage, except for the sake of omniscience. The virtuous friend is one who, when told that mind consciousness is secluded, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage, except for the sake of omniscience. Subhuti, this should be recognized as the virtuous friend of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Furthermore, Subhuti, the virtuous friend of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is one who, when told that contact arising from the aggregation of the eye is impermanent, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage, except for the sake of omniscience. The virtuous friend is one who, when told that contact arising from the aggregation of the ear is impermanent, teaches the Dharma in a non-objective way, and does not allow all roots of virtue to fully enter the Hearer's stage or the Solitary Buddha's stage, except for the sake of omniscience.
