When a great Bodhisattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "form is empty," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "feeling is empty," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "perception is empty," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "mental formations are empty," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "consciousness is empty," and thus generate understanding, then, Venerable Sharadvatiputra, this is a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva being attached to dharmas conducive to Bodhi, which becomes a fault. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "form is signless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "feeling is signless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "perception is signless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "mental formations are signless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "consciousness is signless," and thus generate understanding, then, Venerable Sharadvatiputra, this is a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva being attached to dharmas conducive to Bodhi, which becomes a fault. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "form is wishless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "feeling is wishless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "perception is wishless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "mental formations are wishless," and thus generate understanding; if they become attached to and dwell on the notion that "consciousness is wishless," and thus generate understanding, then, Venerable Sharadvatiputra, this is a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva being attached to dharmas conducive to Bodhi, which becomes a fault. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they think, "This form should be abandoned," "With this, form should be abandoned," "This feeling should be abandoned," "With this, feeling should be abandoned,"

O! This perception should be abandoned. By this, perception should be abandoned. This formation should be abandoned. By this, formation should be abandoned. This consciousness should be abandoned. By this, consciousness should be abandoned. This suffering should be fully known. By this, suffering should be fully known. This origin should be abandoned. By this, origin should be abandoned. This cessation should be realized. By this, cessation should be realized. This path should be cultivated. By this, the path should be cultivated. This is all affliction. This is complete purification. These dharmas should be adhered to. These dharmas should not be adhered to. A Bodhisattva Mahasattva should practice this. One should not practice this. This is the path of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the path. This is the training of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the training. This is the perfection of generosity of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the perfection of generosity. This is the perfection of discipline of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the perfection of discipline. This is the perfection of patience of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the perfection of patience. This is the perfection of diligence of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the perfection of diligence. This is the perfection of meditation of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the perfection of meditation. This is the perfection of wisdom of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not the perfection of wisdom. This is the skillful means of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This is not skillful means. This is the faultlessness of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. This becomes a fault. Thus, the perception of being attached to and abiding in those dharmas is that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is attached to the conforming dharma, which is a fault.
