Even a thousandth part cannot approach. Even in number, it cannot approach. Even in measure, it cannot approach. Even in counting, it cannot approach. Even in simile, it cannot approach, and the cause cannot bear it. Son of Sharadvati, even if the world in the southeast direction were filled entirely with monks like the son of Sharadvati and the son of Maudgalyayana, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, it would not be enough. Son of Sharadvati, even if the world in the southwest direction were filled entirely with monks like the son of Sharadvati and the son of Maudgalyayana, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, their wisdom could not approach even a hundredth part of the wisdom cultivated in one day by a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices the Prajnaparamita. Even a thousand hundred trillion parts cannot come close. It cannot even come close in number. It cannot even come close in parts. It cannot even come close in counting. Sharadvatiputra asked: Blessed One, whether it is the wisdom of a Stream-enterer among the Hearers, or a Once-returner, or a Non-returner, or an Arhat, or the wisdom of a Pratyekabuddha, or the wisdom of a Bodhisattva, or the wisdom of a Tathagata, an Arhat, a Perfectly Awakened Buddha, all those wisdoms are non-different, without distinction, empty, solitary, unborn by nature, empty of essence. Blessed One, since there is no distinction, and it is unborn in solitude, and there is emptiness by nature, no difference or distinction can be observed. Blessed One, how then does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, with wisdom cultivated like a single umbrella, come to overwhelm the wisdom of all Hearers and Pratyekabuddhas? The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, what do you think? A Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, cultivating wisdom in a single day, I, having practiced knowing the aspects of the path, have worked for the benefit of all sentient beings, and having manifestly awakened to all dharmas in all aspects, will completely liberate all sentient beings from suffering. For the sake of what purpose is preparation made, and for such a purpose, is the wisdom of all Hearers and Pratyekabuddhas also prepared? He replied: Blessed One, it is not so. The Blessed One said: Sharadvatiputra, what do you think? Do the Hearers and Pratyekabuddhas think thus: We have attained the unsurpassed perfect
