Then, the Bhagavan, while seated on that lion throne, entered into the samadhi of the Buddha called "Lion's Play," and manifested miraculous displays. As he manifested those miraculous displays, this three-thousand great thousandfold world shook in six ways. It shook, it shook exceedingly, it shook completely. It trembled, it trembled exceedingly, it trembled completely. It swayed, it swayed exceedingly, it swayed completely. It flashed, it flashed exceedingly, it flashed completely. It roared, it roared exceedingly, it roared completely. It rustled, it rustled exceedingly, it rustled completely. When the edges were high, the center was low. When the center was high, the edges were low. In a slow and gentle manner, it brought comfort and happiness to all sentient beings. Then, in that moment, instant, and single occasion, all the hell beings, the birthplaces of animals, the realm of Yama, the unfavorable conditions, the bad destinies, the bad migrations, and all the fallen states that existed in this three-thousand great thousandfold world were completely cut off. All those sentient beings were born equally with humans and gods. They were born equally with the gods of the four great kings, the thirty-three, the Yama, the Tushita, the Nirmanarati, and the Paranirmitavasavartin gods. Then, those gods and those humans, through joy, faith, and comfort, remembered their previous lives. Having remembered their previous lives, those who obtained joy, faith, and comfort went to where the Bhagavan was and prostrated at the feet of the Bhagavan. Then, in that moment, instant, and single occasion, all the hell beings, all the birthplaces of animals, and all the realms of Yama in the eastern world, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, were cut off.
