A monk residing in a monastery should practice yoga at dusk and dawn with a Dharma staff, pills, and a leather bag. If a monastery monk does not perfect the precepts as in the shared practice, he will become one who has passed away. This is called the work of the monastery. What is the work of the elder of the monastery? The monastery monk should engage in such work. One should know all the newly ordained monks residing there as before. In all matters, the elder monk should intervene first, until the lineage is not abandoned. One should grasp the things to be done in the monastery. One should engage in the affairs of the monastery.
