It should not be worn constantly. It should not be used for intercourse. It should not be used for sleeping. This is how the mating cloth should not be used. The mating cloth should be used in this way: After the bhikkhuni has worn the mating cloth, she should enter for alms. She should enter the village. She should enter the place of use. She should enter the place of food. She should enter the place of gruel and noodles. In this way, the mating cloth should be used as if it were used in two ways: either it should be worn on top. Or it should be used as a pillow. The upper garment should also be used in this way: After the monks have worn the upper garment, they should not tap in the temple. It should not be used to wipe the floor. The wiping cloth should not be discarded. Smooth surfaces should not be smeared with heavy objects. The work of the bowl should not be done. The work of the Dharma garment should not be done. It should not be washed. While wearing the upper garment, grass, wood, or earth should not be carried. The upper garment should not be used to enter the toilet. It should not be used to enter the place of urination. It should not be used in the steam room. It should not be used in the place of washing feet. The upper garment should not be used to enter all unclean places. It should not be worn on the lower part of the body. It should not be used as a sweat pad. It should not be used and worn constantly. This is the upper garment, this is how the upper garment is not used. The upper garment should be used in this way: After wearing the upper garment, the water pot should be filled. Fill the used pot. Fill the clean balls. Fill the balls of the toilet. The balls for washing feet should also be filled. Containers should be distributed. The temple should be managed. The upper garment should be worn for anything else that is acceptable. The lower garment should be worn completely: worn on the lower part of the body. It should always be worn and used. A monk should not place the Dharma garment in an unclean place. It should not be pressed with heavy objects. If it needs to be sewn, it should be sewn. If it needs to be washed, it should be washed. If it needs to be turned over, it should be turned over. A monk should not hold the five great pigments, namely: indigo, madder, annatto, saffron, and cinnabar. Except for the bark dye krimasha, other bark dyes that turn reddish-brown can be dyed.

If done that way, there is originally no fault. Mending must be done with a mark. An upper garment is not necessarily needed, nor is a lower skirt necessarily needed. If a bhikkhu's Dharma garment is bad or lacking, it should be mended from the side with scraps of cloth, five pieces, or seven pieces, or nine pieces, or ten pieces, or eleven pieces, or even more. In this way, a bhikkhu using mending, use it for mending. What is used as an upper garment, use as an upper garment. What is used as a lower skirt, use as a lower skirt. A bhikkhu should protect the Dharma garment like protecting his own skin. Be sure to do it so that you don't have to look for it again later. This is called the business of the Dharma garment. What is the business of bedding? The Blessed One allowed bhikkhus two kinds of bedding, for the comfort of the bed. If it is thick, make one layer. If it is thin, make two layers. A bhikkhu should not sit or lie down until the bedding is spread out. Do not dedicate only one bedding. Do not stay overnight without bedding. A bhikkhu should be diligent with the bedding, do it well, and be sure to do it so that you don't have to look for it again later. This is called the business of bedding. What is the business of needles? The Blessed One allowed bhikkhus two kinds of needles, for sewing Dharma garments, namely iron and copper. Bhikkhus should not use borderland utensils as if they had no needles. A bhikkhu should put the needle away properly, do it well, and be sure to do it so that you don't have to look for it again later. This is called the business of needles. What is the business of a needle case? The Blessed One allowed bhikkhus a needle case, for hiding needles. A bhikkhu should not give the needle case to shameless novices. Do not lose it. Even if one has taken full ordination, it is not acceptable if one is not trustworthy. In this way, the needle case should not be given to five kinds of people: those who are shameless, those who harbor resentment, those who are unfriendly, those who have poor memory, and those who do not live according to the Dharma. A bhikkhu should put the needle case away properly, be diligent, and be sure to do it so that you don't have to look for it again later. This is called the business of the needle case. What is the business of the bowl? The Blessed One
