Would there be any transgression? The Blessed One said: Yes. From the category of precepts that have been vowed, if I take food and drink with my hand, I shall confess separately. If a bhikshuni takes it, there will be a transgression. Having taken vows in a place of theft, if one has not yet received full ordination, one should not cause them to receive full ordination; if one has received full ordination, one should cause them to return to the lay life; if one has not received full ordination, one should cause them to receive full ordination; if one has received full ordination, one should not cause them to return to the lay life, would there be such a case? The Blessed One said: If one has experienced the Uposatha two or three times, if they have not received full ordination, one should not cause them to receive full ordination; if they have received full ordination, one should cause them to return to the lay life. Whoever has experienced the Uposatha once, if they have not received full ordination, one should cause them to receive full ordination; if they have received full ordination, one should not cause them to return to the lay life. A bhikshuni who has been expelled, if, having taken vows, if she has not received full ordination, one should not cause her to receive full ordination; if she has received full ordination, one should cause her to return to the lay life; if she has not received full ordination, one should cause her to receive full ordination; if she has received full ordination, one should not cause her to return to the lay life, would there be such a case? The Blessed One said: Yes. If those who engage in impure conduct cause a bhikshuni to be expelled, then if she has not received full ordination, one should not cause her to receive full ordination; if she has received full ordination, one should cause her to return to the lay life. Whoever causes a bhikshuni to be expelled by physical contact, then if she has not received full ordination, one should cause her to receive full ordination; if she has received full ordination, one should not cause her to return to the lay life. If one creates dissension in the Sangha, having taken vows, if one has not received full ordination, one should not cause one to receive full ordination; if one has received full ordination, one should cause one to return to the lay life; if one has not received full ordination, one should cause one to receive full ordination; if one has received full ordination, one should not cause one to return to the lay life, would there be such a case? The Blessed One said: Yes. Whoever perceives what is not Dharma as not Dharma, and seeing that dissension is also not Dharma, causes the Sangha to split; and whoever perceives what is not Dharma as Dharma, and seeing that dissension is also not Dharma, causes the Sangha to split; and whoever is uncertain about what is not Dharma, and seeing that dissension is also not Dharma, causes the Sangha to split.

If someone has become an obstacle, if they have not received full ordination, they should not be given full ordination. If they have already received full ordination, they should be made to return to lay life. If someone, knowing that something is not Dharma, perceives it as Dharma, thereby causing division in the Sangha, and sees even the division as Dharma, then even if they have not received full ordination, they should be given full ordination. Even if they have already received full ordination, they should not be made to return to lay life. If someone admits that they have not killed, then even if they have not received full ordination, they should not be given full ordination; if they have already received full ordination, they should be made to return to lay life; even if they have not received full ordination, they should be given full ordination; Even if they have already received full ordination, they should not be made to return to lay life, is that so? The Blessed One said: Yes. If someone intentionally severs the life of their mother with their own hands, then if they have not received full ordination, they should not be given full ordination. If they have already received full ordination, they should be made to return to lay life. If someone severs the life of their mother through the perception of another, then even if they have not received full ordination, they should be given full ordination. Even if they have already received full ordination, they should not be made to return to lay life. The same applies to father, Arhat, and Shravaka. Venerable one, does a Bhikshu sever the life of their mother with a virtuous mind, or with an unvirtuous mind, or with an indeterminate mind, kill their mother? The Blessed One said: Upali, a Bhikshu can sever the life of their mother with a virtuous mind, an unvirtuous mind, and an indeterminate mind. Venerable one, if a Bhikshu severs the life of their mother with a virtuous mind, will they incur a Parajika offense and also commit an irreversible act? The Blessed One said: Upali, if a Bhikshu severs the life of their mother with an unvirtuous mind, they will incur a Parajika offense and also commit an irreversible act. If they sever the life of their mother with a virtuous mind, they will not incur a Parajika offense, nor will they commit an irreversible act. Venerable one, if a Bhikshu severs the life of their mother with an unvirtuous mind, will they incur a Parajika offense and also commit an irreversible act? Or if they sever the life of their mother with an unvirtuous mind, will they not incur a Parajika offense, nor will they commit an irreversible act? The Blessed One said: Upali, with an unvirtuous mind
