One should stay for a short time. Again, it is requested: 'Venerable one, may the Blessed One bless for one day.' If it is said like that, in whose presence should the blessing be done? Upali, that is in the presence of one monk. Similarly, bless for two days, or three days, or four days, or five days, or six days. From six days onwards up to forty days, if one requests the Sangha and appoints, then bless as one pleases in the presence of the Sangha or an individual. The venerable Upali asked the Buddha, the Blessed One: 'Venerable one, is the unsuitable leather also unsuitable for its meat?' Upali, the unsuitable leather is also unsuitable for its meat. Its tendons and bones are also unsuitable. This is the third verse of the first chapter of the Single Door. Vinaya Dharma, Volume Thirty-nine. In short, tangible things, the essence is bedding, and outdated outer garments are also the same. Crows, owls, and vultures, these should not be eaten. When the Buddha, the Blessed One, was dwelling in the Kalanda bird grove in the Light Garden of Rajagriha, when King Ajatasatru was deceived by Devadatta and cut off the livelihood of his father, the righteous king, he saw the bedding and wept. The ministers said: 'Heavenly King, if the old king likes the noble ones,

The monks indeed sold and ate them, so they were blamed for saying that they used to be there but are not there now. The Blessed One said: On the eighth or fourteenth day, also write on it with paint on top. When the unbelievers see it, they will say that the monks have sold and eaten the heavenly bedding, and it is gone. The monks reported this to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: Write at the end that this offering belongs to King Rupakaya Citta (Image-body Mind). The story took place in Shravasti. At that time, the queen of King Pasenadi of Kosala, who was beautiful and attractive, passed away. So they took her out and cremated her, performed the funeral rites, and the next morning, with her clothes and hair still wet, she went to where the Blessed One was, prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat on one side. After sitting on one side, the Blessed One said to King Pasenadi of Kosala: Great King, why have you come here the next morning with your clothes and hair still wet? Venerable, my queen, who was very beautiful and attractive, has passed away. So I took her out and cremated her, and performed the funeral rites. Therefore, I came here the next morning with my clothes and hair still wet. Great King, was the queen very beautiful? Venerable, she was very beautiful and attractive. Venerable, if the queen could be revived and asked for many yaks, I would give many yaks. Similarly, even if she asked for many horses, many chariots, or half the kingdom, if the queen could be revived, I would be willing to give half the kingdom. Venerable, I am so sad for her, so afflicted, so tormented by grief, even though I try to restrain myself, but the queen was beautiful and attractive, and she has passed away. I thought to myself: The Blessed One has spoken well, it is wonderful, all sentient beings, all living beings, all creatures, the end of life is death. In the end, they will face death, so if they are born, they will die.

The Blessed One said, "It is wonderful, O great king, it is so. It is so, indeed. All sentient beings, all living creatures, and all beings, the end of life is death, and ultimately they will face death, so there is no one who is born and does not die. O great king, whether they are Kshatriyas of great and high lineage, or Brahmins of great and high lineage, or householders of great and high lineage, the end of their life is death, and ultimately they will face death, so there is no one who is born and does not die. Furthermore, O great king, those kings who have been crowned from their heads, who rule over many people, who are diligent and have attained diligence, who have also subdued and dwell in the great circle of the earth, even such ones, the end of their life is death, and ultimately they will face death, so there is no one who is born and does not die. O great king, even like this, if a king renounces his kingdom and lives as an ascetic, eating fruits that fall by themselves, living on roots and fruits, even such a one, the end of life is death, and ultimately they will face death, so there is no one who is born and does not die. O great king, even like this, long-lived gods, possessing many beautiful forms, dwelling in high mansions, even they will depart from that place and become subject to the law of death and transmigration. Even like this, O great king, Arhats who have exhausted defilements, accomplished their tasks, laid down their burdens, attained their own benefit, exhausted the bonds of existence, whose minds are completely liberated by the correct teachings, even their bodies will be subject to the law of decay. Again, like this, O great king, solitary Buddhas resembling rhinoceroses, who are tamed alone, pacified alone, liberated alone from sorrow, even their bodies will be subject to the law of decay. Again, like this, O great king, the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly and Fully Awakened One, endowed with the ten powers, fearless with the four fearlessnesses, the supreme among the best, roaring the lion's roar, even such a body will be subject to the law of decay. O great king, all such forms should be understood in this way. All sentient beings, all living creatures, and all beings, the end of life is death, and ultimately they will face death, so all who are born
