Another monk again took hot soup in a cracked bowl, and after that oil appeared, and fat appeared on top, and that monk was doubtful. The Blessed One instructed: Drink the fat on top! A monk was afflicted with wind disease, and he drank soup in the afternoon, and in the evening he said he would drink water in that bowl, and oil floated in the bowl, and fat congealed on top of it, and that monk was doubtful, so he did not drink the water either. After this happened, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: Wash your hands and mouth, skim off the oil, drink it, do not doubt this! When that monk returned, he saw that other food had been poured on top of the alms, and he was doubtful and did not eat it. The monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. The Blessed One replied: "If giving and receiving is possible, then give and receive and eat. If not, pour the food on top elsewhere, do not doubt, and eat." Another monk, having collected alms, placed it in his dwelling and went outside. He saw a householder touch the food, and the monk was doubtful and did not eat it. The monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. The Blessed One replied: "Ask the householder why he touched it. If he says he touched it to remove impure grass, then give and receive and eat. If he says he touched it out of desire, then give half to the clothes, give and receive, and do not doubt, and eat." The Blessed One said: "Monks, take provisions." If there are no householders or novice fathers, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. The Blessed One replied: "Let the donor generate joy. If there is no donor, take it yourself, and then eat it with the householder. If there is still none, then divide it into two portions and give it to the householder. If he takes it, ask him for that portion back, give and receive, and eat. Give your portion to him. If that is still not possible, then fast on the first day. If there is no giving and receiving during the day on the second day, then eat one portion of tiger's food. If there is still no giving and receiving during the day on the second day, then eat two portions of tiger's food. If so
