If one vows to be a householder, is it called having taken full ordination or not having taken full ordination? Upali, even if one has already taken full ordination, if one vows to be a householder, then that is also called not having taken full ordination, so what need is there to say anything at the time of taking full ordination? The third verse of the "Sutra of the Three Solitary Doors." In short, oils are not allowed, and one should not anoint the feet with any of the five. Authority should be proclaimed, and the produce of the fields belongs to the Sangha. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in Jeta's Grove, Anathapindika's Park. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, instructed, "Do not wear shoes of the five kinds that are not allowed." The group of six monks anointed their feet with the oils of those five kinds that are not allowed and went to the woolly cattle of King Pasenadi of Kosala, standing in the direction of the herdsmen. The woolly cattle smelled the scent and fled. They said, "O venerable ones, catch them!" They said, "We cannot catch them." "Good sirs, will you catch them?" "O noble ones, if we catch them, what will you give us?" "We will give the price of settlement." They went before them and stood in a direction where the herdsmen could not stand, and those woolly cattle also stopped. They said, "O venerable ones, do you know?" "Good sirs, we do not know, but we have anointed our feet with the oil that the woolly cattle know." "O venerable ones, the king's best woolly cattle have fled, will you not cause harm to the king?" They said this, blaming their faults, mocking them, and speaking unpleasantly. When this happened, the monks reported it to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan instructed, "O monks, do not anoint your feet with the oil that the woolly cattle know. If a monk anoints his feet with the oil that the woolly cattle know, it becomes an offense." Just as the woolly cattle know, so too should the horse know, the lion, the tiger, the leopard, and so forth be explained in detail. The origin of the story is in Rajagriha. Then, King Bimbisara went to where the venerable Ananda was, and approached him.

After that, the Venerable Ananda bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and withdrew to one side. Having withdrawn to one side, King Rupavat approached the Venerable Ananda and said, "Venerable Ananda, what is the purpose of setting up the lion throne? Is the Dharma to be proclaimed today?" At that time, it was the time for the Uposatha, which is conducted by monks, not by laypeople. After saying this, the king bowed at the feet of the Buddha and departed. The Buddha, knowing, asked, "Ananda, why did the king leave without hearing the Dharma?" Ananda explained the situation in detail to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said, "Ananda, you have made a mistake. If King Rupavat had heard the Pratimoksha, he would have been even more delighted, and after being delighted, he would have done what needs to be done because of his delight. Therefore, I allow you to let these faithful noble men hear it." Furthermore, regarding those who are very wealthy but do not have faith, and those who are poor but have great faith, the Blessed One said, "Let them also hear it." At that time, the Venerable Twenty Crore Paddy Stalks, he was pale, emaciated, thin, dull, and physically weak. The Blessed One saw him and said to the Venerable Ananda, "Ananda, why is Twenty Crore Paddy Stalks pale, emaciated, thin, dull, and physically weak?" He reported to the Blessed One, "Blessed One, he has been sustaining his body with only rice porridge since birth." The Blessed One said, "Ananda, since that is the case, I allow Twenty Crore Paddy Stalks to drink rice porridge to nourish his body." Then, the Venerable Ananda told Twenty Crore Paddy Stalks, "Venerable, the Blessed One allows you to drink rice porridge." He said, "Venerable Ananda, is it only allowed for me alone? Or is it allowed for all the Sangha?" Ananda said, "It is only allowed for you alone." He said, "Venerable Ananda, in that case,

Those who behave like Brahma also say this: For the sake of teaching twenty kotis of buckwheat, they renounced and became ordained. Previously, in the city of Champa, when there was a good harvest, they even abandoned what seven yaks could pull and became ordained. Now, they are attached to even a little bit of tsampa. The Blessed One, for my sake, if you allow all the Sangha to eat tsampa, I will be satisfied. After this request, the monks also reported this to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: Since it is so, allow all the Sangha to drink tsampa for the sake of twenty kotis of buckwheat. When King Corporeal Heart heard that the Blessed One had allowed the Sangha to drink tsampa, he offered the Sangha fields sown with a thousand pots of seeds. The monks did not accept it. The Blessed One instructed: For the sake of the Sangha, it should be accepted, do not hesitate. Therefore, the Sangha should use what comes from the fields. This is the fourth verse of the third chapter of the Solitary Practice. In short, cushions and full ordination, the father of a novice and a new novice, and those who have taken and have not taken the vows of a nun, this is the second giving of training. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was dwelling in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. The Venerable Upali asked the Buddha, the Blessed One: Venerable, can a monk and a householder sit together on the same cushion? Upali, that is not allowed, but if such a situation arises, it is allowed. Venerable, the father of a novice and a new monk, as well as a hermaphrodite, a prostitute, an expelled nun, a parricide, a matricide, a slayer of an Arhat, one who maliciously drew blood from the Tathagata, a heretic, one who has become a heretic, a thief, one who lives separately, one who does not live, and so on, can they sit together on the same cushion? Upali, that is not allowed, but if such a situation arises, it is allowed. Similarly, one bed, one high bed, one small bed, one cloth is not allowed, but if such a situation arises, it is allowed.
