The seventh (chapter). In short, sugar water and beverages are also like that. After being kept for seven days, they should also be dedicated to others, and the subsequent benefits should not diminish. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was residing in Jeta's Grove in Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. The Bhagavan, together with the assembly of Shravakas, went on a journey, and they went to another village called Ribhrag. The Bhagavan knew that there was a householder living in that village who needed to be tamed, so the Bhagavan went to the village of Ribhrag. When that householder saw the Bhagavan, he developed faith and came to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan understood his thoughts, habits, faculties, and nature, and taught him the Dharma in such a way that he would realize the Four Noble Truths. After hearing this, the householder destroyed the twenty high peaks of the mountain of "view of self" with the vajra of wisdom and attained the fruit of stream-entry. When those monks were tired from the fatigue of the road, they laid down their robes and rested in returning temples, roadsides, gardens, and under trees. That householder gained great faith, so he went to the roadsides, temples, and under trees in order to pay respects to the monks. When he saw the monks lying down and resting, he said, "Why are the noble ones sleeping and resting when they should be diligently practicing the teachings?" They replied, "Householder, we are tired from the fatigue of the road and unable to practice virtue." He said, "Noble ones,

Furthermore, if those with life do so, they should report to the Blessed One, so they said. The monks did so and reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: Jaggery should be eaten entirely; do not hesitate about it. The Blessed One instructed: Eat all the jaggery. After those monks ate, they became thirsty due to the fatigue of the road. The Blessed One instructed: Make jaggery water and drink it. The venerable Upali asked the Buddha, the Blessed One: Venerable, is it permissible to bless and consume jaggery water after it has been stored for seven days? Upali, it is not permissible. Venerable, for how long should it be kept before drinking? Upali, as long as it has not deteriorated, turned sour, and its nature has not changed. The origin of the story is when they were in Shravasti. The Blessed One instructed: Fasting, what is obtained lawfully, the blessing of Dharma robes, the offering of robes, and inviting a single person; these five things can be decided by oneself. So he said. Wherever those monks were invited, or invited to other places, or invited to better places, it is all right. One is oneself, and the second is to give up one's own thoughts and give to others. When the time of famine came, the monks became very poor due to begging for alms. Brahmins and householders of faith invited the elder monks for food, and promised one householder and gave the opportunity to another. The Blessed One instructed: Therefore, when famine occurs and it is difficult to obtain food in suffering, all those who are invited should be accepted entirely, and I should also eat, and the monks should also be divided. The monks went to the Brahmins and other householders, and those people said: Venerable, we did not invite you, we invited this elder named so-and-so. The monks did so and reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: Go yourself to receive the offering, eat two or three mouthfuls, and then say this: Householder, these monks are busy with food, this

Say, please rejoice in the giving. Likewise, give to two or three or as many guests as are invited. After everyone has done this, the last invited guest should eat until full. Do not have any doubts about this. This is the eighth verse of the first chapter of "The Solitary Door." In short, butter or that is oil, or grain oil. And other things that have been placed, a box of eye medicine, a wide place, and a suitable place. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in the Jeta Grove in Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. A certain monk was afflicted with a wind disease, and he went to a doctor and said: O good sir, I am afflicted with such a disease, please show me a remedy. He said: O noble one, please take this much butter, and you will recover. He told this to the monks. The monks reported to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan said: If the doctor instructs you to drink butter, you should drink it. The monk drank it and was well during the day, but at night the wind disease arose again. The monks asked the doctor, and he said to drink it also at night. The monks reported to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan said to drink it also at night. He accumulated a lot and blessed it for seven days, and then he was cured. The story took place in Shravasti. Another monk became ill, and he also went to a doctor and said: Please make me well. O good sir, I am afflicted with such a disease, please show me a method of healing. He instructed: O noble one, if you drink this much grain oil, you will recover. He told this to the monks. The monks also reported to the Bhagavan. The Bhagavan said: If the doctor instructs you to drink grain oil, you should drink grain oil. The monk drank it, and he recovered during the day, but at night the wind disease arose again. The monks asked the doctor, and he instructed to drink it also at night.
