Alas, we are murderers! Then who killed them? They were killed by those who take what is not given. We have blessed their heads, feet, and tails to the dust. Those people said, 'Venerable ones, do you carry mule meat?' They replied, 'Yes.' Those people ridiculed them. After this happened, the monks reported it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said, 'If monks eat the flesh of a mule, it will become an object of offense. Therefore, monks should not eat the flesh of cloven-hoofed animals. If they eat it, it will constitute a transgression.' The incident occurred in Shravasti. The Six Groups of monks ate the flesh of a 'wa', and Brahmins and householders saw it and said, 'What is this, monks? It is the flesh of a 'wa'.' 'Do the venerable ones also carry the flesh of a 'wa'?' They replied, 'Yes.' Those people ridiculed them. After this happened, the monks reported it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said, 'Monks, the ridicule of Brahmins and householders is justified. Therefore, monks, do not eat the flesh of a 'wa'. If monks eat the flesh of a 'wa', it will constitute a transgression.' The incident occurred in Shravasti. In Jeta Grove, a monkey fell from one tree to another and died. The Six Groups of monks put it in a pot and cooked it. Another woman lost her young son and came to Jeta Grove searching for him. She saw the Six Groups of monks cooking a monkey in a pot. Seeing this, she thought, 'Have they cooked my son here?' and began to speculate. After a while, the pot bubbled and boiled, and the monkey's hand came out. She beat her chest and said, 'Oh, my son! Oh, my son!' Then the monkey's foot also came out, and she said again, 'Oh, my son! Oh, my son!' The Six Groups of monks said, 'Why are you doing this?' She said, 'The hand and foot that came out are my son.' After a while, the tail also came out. The Six Groups of monks said, 'Does your son have a tail?' She was ashamed and said, 'Venerable ones, is this a monkey?' They said, 'It is a monkey.' 'Venerable ones, do you also carry monkey meat?'

Sa! He said "early," and those people mocked, and after it became like that, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One taught: "Monks, monkeys are like human flesh. Therefore, monks, do not eat monkey meat. Monks, if you eat monkey meat, you will be judged as fallen." This is the fifth verse of the first chapter of 'The Single Door.' In short: Do not give with a bowl, cloth, leather, or leaf bowl. Except for an iron tube, give with a jeweled mouth. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was residing in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. At that time, there was another sick monk in Shravasti. He was tormented by illness, went to the doctor, and said, "In order to cure the illness, please tell me the method of treatment, as I am sick like this." The doctor said, "Use a laxative." He said, "The Blessed One does not allow it." The doctor said, "Venerable, your teacher is compassionate and will allow it." After it became like that, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One taught: "If the doctor advises, and it can cure the illness, then use a laxative, do not hesitate. The Blessed One said, "Take a laxative." They used a bowl to hold the laxative, but the bowl broke and could not be used. The Blessed One taught: "Do not use a bowl to hold it." They used the edge of the cloth to hold it, and that also became a fault. The Blessed One taught: "Do not use the edge of the cloth to hold it." They used leather to hold it, and that also became a fault. The Blessed One taught: "Do not use leather to hold it." They used a leaf bowl to hold it, and that also became a fault. The Blessed One taught: "Do not use a leaf bowl to hold it, use a tube to hold it." He used an iron tube to hold it, and after putting it in, it became very hot and rough. The Blessed One

The Buddha Bhagavan was residing in Jeta Grove in Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. The venerable Upali asked the Buddha Bhagavan: Venerable, is there a medicine that can be taken in the morning, taken in the afternoon, taken for seven days, and even taken for a lifetime? Upali, sugarcane is a morning food, its juice is an afternoon food, sugarcane is a seven-day food, and sugarcane and sugarcane ash are lifelong foods. Upali, yogurt is a morning food, yogurt water is an afternoon food, ghee is a seven-day food, and yogurt ash is a lifelong food. Upali, meat is a morning food, fat is a seven-day food, and meat ash is a lifelong food. Upali, sesame is a morning food, sesame oil is a seven-day food, and sesame ash is a lifelong food. The monks reported to the Bhagavan, and the Bhagavan taught, "Do as the doctor says, do not have any doubts." The origin of the story is in Shravasti: Other monks also became ill, and the doctor instructed some of them to drink mustard porridge, instructed some to drink root porridge, instructed some to drink trunk porridge, and instructed some to drink fruit porridge. They did so, and then the monks reported to the Bhagavan, and the Bhagavan taught, "Therefore, I allow that if a doctor prescribes medicine for a patient, all kinds of porridge can be drunk, do not have any doubts. Verse of the first chapter of the "Single Door" Sutra.
