There are five types of gandi: the gandi, the faulty gandi, and the abandoned gandi. The gandi for all the Sangha is three continuities and three fierce ones. The gandi for actions is two continuities and one fierce one. The gandi for death is one continuity. The faulty gandi is until it becomes peaceful. The abandoned gandi is spitting out what is in the mouth. A bhikshu who possesses five qualities should instruct a bhikshuni. What are the five? They are: being endowed with morality, being learned, being like a steadfast king, being endowed with the language of the city, and not having censured the bhikshuni with bodily actions. How is one endowed with morality? It is not having transgressed any of the four parajikas. How is one learned? It is having explained or recited the Pratimoksha Sutra. How is one like a steadfast king? It is having completed twenty years since ordination, or even more than that. Has he not censured the bhikshuni with bodily actions? Or how has he dealt with that fault according to the Dharma? The two doors are completed. The condensed meaning of the three doors Sutra is: dispute and making happy, and the person who obtains wealth is also the same, Upali's Vinaya punishment, and giving to the ordained is also the same. In short, the root of conflict is six instructions, actions and teachings are also the same, what should be inflicted with decline, and what should be prevented are also the same. Bhikshus, here the root of conflict is six: there are bhikshus who are angry and resentful. Bhikshus, whoever is a bhikshu who is angry and holds resentment, he does not regard the teacher as supreme, does not respect, does not revere, does not make offerings. Because he does not respect the teacher, does not regard him as supreme, does not respect, does not revere, does not make offerings, therefore he does not see the Dharma. Because he does not see the Dharma, he does not practice serving the Sangha. Because he does not practice serving the Sangha, he is negligent in his own practice. Because he is negligent in his own practice, it leads to fighting among the Sangha, exposing faults, holding grudges, and disputes.

Thus it will arise. Fighting, exposing faults, holding grudges, and arguing are not beneficial to many people. They are not for the benefit of many people, but cause suffering to many. They are also meaningless, unhelpful, and cause suffering to gods and humans. Monks, if you see that the root of such disputes exists internally or externally, and you have not abandoned it, and you follow it, and you are in harmony with it and very happy, then generate diligence, effort, and joy with great faith! Having generated joy, strive not to abandon mindfulness and wisdom until the root of the dispute is abandoned. Similarly, monks, if you see that the root of the dispute exists internally or externally and has not been abandoned, then be in harmony with it and be happy, and with mindfulness that is greatly guarded by the mind, strive until the faults of the root of the dispute are exhausted! And the root of your dispute will be completely destroyed, and it will not arise again in the future. Holding grudges is like that, as are concealment, anger, jealousy, stinginess, deceit, hypocrisy, shamelessness, fearlessness, and being proud of one's own views. The words that are difficult to abandon when grasping at things should be spoken in detail. There are six types of admonitions: the Buddha's admonition, the Sangha's admonition, the teacher's admonition, the preceptor's admonition, the king's admonition, and the thief's admonition. There are six actions that a layperson should not do: selling sentient beings, selling weapons, selling alcohol, selling poison, the work of a brothel, and the work of extracting oil. There are six dark teachings: Thus, to the monks, a certain monk says, "Venerable ones, I have heard directly from the Blessed One, and I have received it directly: This is the Dharma, this is the Vinaya, this is the teaching of the Teacher." If that monk says that, then do not rejoice in what that monk has said, nor denigrate it. Do not rejoice, nor denigrate, but hold the words, meaning, and letters together and compare them with the Sutras.
