I thought to myself that this was a transgression. That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One declared: There is no transgression, be at ease! If a monk, with the intention to kill, sends another monk to a place of fear, and he dies as a result, he commits a Parajika offense. If he does not die, he commits a Sanghavasesa offense. The Blessed One was residing in the city of Vaisali. The monks would go into the great forest during the day to wander. There, a monk killed a monkey. Another monk said: You have committed a Parajika offense. For what thing is a person's life lost? What is the difference between a human and one who resembles a human? That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One declared: There is no Parajika offense, but a Dukkhata offense is committed. Threatening thieves is also as it appears in the extensive Vinaya. In summary: The one with a head, the former doctor, the one who died due to obstruction, the location of Vaisali, obstruction of cutting off and running. While in Shravasti, another householder had a son who grew up, and because he burned bricks with his head, everyone named him 'Head-Topper'. When he was ordained, he once entered a village for some reason, and another householder's wife also followed behind him with a boy, and she was also looking left and right as she went. A ram charged at him, and the monk also lowered his head and walked, and the woman thought he was going to hit me, so the ram hit him. The monk fell on the boy, and the boy died. That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One declared: There is no transgression, but monks should not walk like that, but look as if looking at a yoke. Previously, another person who had ordained from being a doctor came to a sick monk. He said: Let me bleed you! He gave him an injection, and after pulling out the needle, that monk died. That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One declared: There is no transgression, but from now on, monks should not practice medicine without being trained.

Now, another sick monk had not recovered, and he thought: I must live somehow, I am going to die. Then, that monk said to the attendant: Please give me a rope. He gave him the rope, and he suffocated, and then he passed away. That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One said: There is no fault. Monks should not casually give ropes to the sick. A monk was going for alms when the people living in the city of Vaishali came with arrows and bows in their hands, and that monk said: Good people, do not kill me, shoot this one. He shot an arrow and killed him there. That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One said: There is no fault. Monks should not command in that way. Another sick monk also, like before, took a rope and went to the great forest, and there he climbed a tree, tied himself with the rope, put his neck in the noose, and jumped. The rope broke, and there was a puppy underneath, and the monk fell on it, and that dog and its child died together. Those monks heard about it and reported it in detail to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: The former monk is at fault, but the latter is not at fault. Monks should not exert themselves in this way with their bodies. If they do, they will commit a grave offense. Another monk had some business in a village, and he took a monk who had just recovered from illness and left. On the way, he was afraid of robbers and said to him: Living one, go quickly. He said: I cannot. The monk said: Come, poor one. He took him like that, and when he brought him to the village, he died. He thought: If I had not brought that monk, he would not have died. That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One said: There is no fault. From now on, monks should not take such a weak patient on the road. In short, teaching the concept of happiness, Arhat, Brahmin, Ishvara (god), and.

Robes and alms, there are two ways to approach a village. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was residing in the village of the Bright Grove in the land of Vriji. For the monks dwelling on the banks of the Ganges, since no training rules had been established, there was no offense for beginners. When we had not established the training rules, if we spoke to many people about a Dharma that was non-existent, false, and beyond human capabilities, what would we, as beginners, think? Thus, doubt, hesitation, and regret arose. The Bhagavan declared: Monks, when no training rules have been established, all the monks dwelling on the banks of the Ganges, including those of the past, are beginners, so there is no offense for beginners. A monk, perceiving a human as a non-human, spoke of a Dharma that was non-existent, false, and beyond human capabilities, and that monk felt regret. The Bhagavan declared: If one perceives a human as a human, one incurs a defeat. If one is doubtful about a non-human, one incurs a grave offense. If one perceives a non-human as a human, one incurs a grave offense. A monk spoke to a householder about a Dharma that was non-existent, false, and beyond human capabilities, and that householder, being distracted, said: Venerable, what are you saying? That monk felt regret. The Bhagavan declared: There is no defeat, but a grave offense is incurred. A householder said to a monk: Venerable, you are an Arhat, robes, alms, bedding, medicine, and excellent utensils are suitable for you. If the monk does not speak and tacitly agrees, he incurs a grave offense. A householder said to a monk: Do you possess the undefiled Dharma, the pure conduct? If the monk does not speak and tacitly agrees, he incurs a grave offense. If you, venerable, are an Arhat, please accept my alms. If he does not speak and tacitly agrees, he incurs a grave offense. A monk, intending to go to another village, put on his lower robe early in the morning and went to the village, and a householder said to him: Venerable, if you are an Arhat, please come inside.
