Because the land had not been given, a monastic bhikkhu went to that house, and they said, "He has prevented it, go and call him." After they called him, they said to that monastic bhikkhu, "Householder, those newly harvested grains and fruits should first be offered to the Sangha, and then you can eat them yourself. You went to that house and prevented (the offering)." He said, "Venerable ones, I did not prevent it, nor did I dissuade it." They said, "This person cannot say this, grab him and throw him into a pit." They threw him into the pit, and he died. The bhikkhus felt remorse. The Blessed One taught, 'There is no Parajika offense, but a gross offense is committed.' Another householder was offering robes to the Sangha of bhikkhus observing the summer retreat, and a monastic bhikkhu came to that house, and the householder thought, 'From now on I will not offer to the Sangha, but will offer to this monastic bhikkhu.' So he offered to that monastic bhikkhu. Those bhikkhus thought, 'The householder should have offered clothes to the Sangha of bhikkhus observing the summer retreat, and a monastic bhikkhu went there and prevented (the offering).' They said, 'Go and call him.' After they called him, they asked that monastic bhikkhu, 'The householder should have offered clothes to the Sangha of bhikkhus observing the summer retreat, but now he is not offering because you went to that house and prevented (the offering), isn't it?' He said, 'Venerable ones, I did not prevent it, nor did I dissuade it.' They said, 'This person cannot say this, grab him and squeeze him in the doorjamb.' They squeezed him in the doorjamb, and he died. The bhikkhus felt remorse. The Blessed One taught, 'There is no Parajika offense, but a gross offense is committed.' A bhikkhu was begging for alms, and in a narrow doorway, a door bolt was erected and sitting there, and the edge of his robe brushed against the door bolt, and the door bolt fell on a child, and the child died. That bhikkhu felt remorse. The Blessed One taught, 'There is no Parajika offense, but be mindful and beg for alms.' A Brahmin first did auspicious things in the morning, and then looked at the omens...

While in the mother's womb, a monk went to that house to beg for alms, and the mother angrily threw him out, and the monk fell on a child, and the child died. The monk felt remorse. The Blessed One taught: There is no fault. A monk recited the mantra of the hand seal, then smeared it with his hand, and clapped his palm once, and that person died. Those monks felt remorse. The Blessed One taught: There is no fault, but be careful and mindful when clapping your palms. A monk was choked and about to die, and another monk punched him once, and the choked thing came out with blood, and that monk died. That monk felt remorse. The Blessed One taught: There is no offense of defeat. In any case, be careful and mindful, and if the choked thing also comes out, and he does not die, then you should punch like that. In short, the second cushion and the second father, and also the second abandoned one, and the similar monkey, and the intimidation of thieves. The venerable black Charka sat on the cushion without examining it, just as it is explained in detail in the differentiation. The fat joyful woman also applies in the same way. A monk died because he was hit by a stone, also as explained in the differentiation. An old monk and his son went together to Jeta Grove, and came out of the village of the monastery. The father said to the son: Here there are leopards that will be frightening, stay inside. The son said to him: Old man, now staying with householders, what difference is there between us and them? Son, be quiet, I am going to sleep. Then the old monk fell asleep, and that monk also fell asleep. The old monk was a snorer, and the sound of his snoring attracted a leopard, and the leopard grabbed his head. He made a sound, and the leopard let go of him and ran away. That monk lit a torch and examined him, and found that he had died. He thought: Even though he said to stay inside, I did not listen to his words, so all of this led to his death.
