He also constantly obtains pure eyes, and also obtains the victorious and peaceful path. I have crossed beyond the sea of suffering, and among all sentient beings, gods and humans also make offerings. Being free from the faults of birth, old age, sickness, and death, it is extremely difficult to see even in thousands of kalpas. Today, having seen the face of the Able One, I have obtained the fruit, and after drinking, I also sway greatly. I also prostrate at the two feet, and joy arises. After circumambulating the Buddha clockwise, I manifested in the realm of the gods. Thereafter, the goddess Glorious Wisdom was like a merchant gaining profit, like a farmer having a good harvest, like a warrior winning a battle, like a sick person being freed from all diseases, possessing all enjoyments, and with this enjoyment, she went to the presence of the Bhagavan and returned to her own abode. Monks, not sleeping at dusk and dawn, diligently striving for the Able One, and abiding, They saw a vast light appearing at the Bhagavan's place. Having seen it, they asked the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, for the sake of beholding the face of the Bhagavan, is it the lord of Brahma's retinue, or Indra, the lord of the gods, or the Four Great Kings, who has come to behold the face of the Bhagavan?" The Bhagavan replied: "Monks, it is not the lord of Brahma's retinue, nor Indra, the lord of the gods, nor the Four Great Kings, etc., who have come, but a queen of King Rupakaya, named Glorious Wisdom, who, without regard for her own livelihood, offered a garland of lamps to the stupa of the Tathagata's hair and nails, and then King Ajatashatru severed her livelihood with a wheel. She, with pure faith, passed away and was reborn as a good-dwelling god in the Thirty-Three Heavens. She came to my presence at night, and I taught her the Dharma, and she saw the truth and returned to her own abode. Therefore, monks, do not fear merit. Why? This is the ultimate word of happiness. Love, loveliness, extreme loveliness, and delightfulness, this is merit. Monks, you should fear non-merit. Why?

Why is that? It is a cliché of suffering. Disagreeable, unsightly, very unsightly, and unpleasant are like this: non-merit. Monks, I have seen for a long time that the merit done for a long time will experience the maturity of pleasant, beautiful, very beautiful, and lovely. Monks, by cultivating loving-kindness for seven years, I did not come to this world for seven destructions and formations of kalpas. When the world is destroyed, I am born in the realm of the gods of light and sound. When the world is formed, I am born in the empty Brahma palace, and there I become the master of Brahma and Great Brahma, and I overwhelm everything, not overwhelmed by others. I rule over hundreds of thousands of beings and am highly praised among beings. Thirty-six thousand times I became Indra, the lord of the gods. For countless hundreds of thousands of times I became a wheel-turning king, conquering the four directions and possessing the seven treasures. The seven treasures are like this: wheel treasure, white elephant treasure, horse treasure, mani treasure, jade woman treasure, treasurer treasure, and general treasure. I also had a thousand sons, all of whom were brave, capable, handsome, and able to conquer enemy troops. I conquered this great earth up to the edge of the sea with righteousness, without oppressing with sticks and weapons, and lived in peace. At that time, I thought to myself: What karma has ripened to make me so powerful and magical? And I thought: It is the ripening of the fruits of these three karmas that has made me so powerful and magical. What are these three? Namely, giving, taming, and tranquility. After the Blessed One said these words, the Teacher said these words again: Wishing for good and happiness, look at the ripening of merit. Monks, for seven years, practice loving-kindness.
