It is. Therefore, even if a son is ordained, it is permitted that the food and clothing of both parents can be provided for. The Blessed One said, even if ordained, provide for the food and clothing of both parents. The monks did not know how to provide, so the Blessed One instructed: Use the remaining alms bowl and Dharma robes to provide. If there are none, beg from the patrons to provide. If it belongs to the Sangha and has the right to dispose of the Sangha's property, give them half. If it is a beggar, give them half of the alms received. If you do not do so, you will be considered deceased. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Not far from Shravasti, there was a mountain village. In that mountain village, there was a monastery where an old practitioner lived. Later, in order to worship the stupa, he went to Shravasti. The Six Groups of monks also with Dharma... One of the Six Groups of monks, because he was the gatekeeper of Jetavana... At that time, the Venerable Ananda was at the gate, and he saw an old man with white hair and long eyebrows coming from afar, and thought: Which elder monk is coming, should I go to meet him? He went ahead and asked: Elder, are you well? The man said: Teacher, I prostrate to you! After saying "I prostrate to you", the Venerable Ananda thought: This old practitioner does not know the teacher, nor does he know the preceptor. So he said: Old practitioner, please come over, let's go to the monastery. He took the old practitioner to the monastery and let him rest. The old practitioner sat for a while and said: Teacher, I am going to worship the stupa. Ananda said: You rest for a while, and we will go when it is time for the gathering. The man said: Teacher, I will take all three Dharma robes with me. Ananda said: Old practitioner, you rest for a while, I will bless your three Dharma robes here. Then, when it was time for the gathering, he blessed the par-thang as a lower skirt, blessed the la-ba as an upper garment, and blessed the be'u-ras.

was blessed as dyed. Then, cotton and fine cloth were placed on the shoulders, wrapped with a cloth sheet, then wrapped with a rope and tied tightly, and then sent into the Sangha. When the monks saw it, some of the bound monks confessed their faults. Some said, "Old Dharma friend, why are you pretending to be crazy?" He said, "Venerable ones, these are my three robes. If I come suddenly, where should I put them?" They said, "Are the three robes like that?" He said, "What will become of those who don't have them?" After the incident, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One taught, "Whatever has become the object of offense is because the monks have blessed the three robes from long hair. Therefore, considering that the monks should not bless the three robes from long hair, he taught: 'Monks, it is reasonable for the monks to confess their faults. Whatever has become the object of offense is because the three robes have been blessed from long hair. Therefore, monks, do not bless the three robes from long hair. If you bless them, it will become sinful.'" The Blessed One said, "Monks, do not bless the three robes from long hair." Devout Brahmins and householders offered cotton, mattresses, and fine cloth, but the monks were doubtful and did not accept them. They said, "Holy ones, when the Buddha, the Blessed One, does not appear in the world, the heretics are the places of offering. Now that the Buddha, the Blessed One, has appeared in the world, you are the places of offering. Now if you do not accept, we have no good merchandise, how will we go to the next life?" They said nothing. After the incident, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One taught, "Monks, what the devout Brahmins and householders say is true. Therefore, I allow you to accept them, and the remaining short hair is the remainder."

Bless it as clothing. Bless and keep the long hairs as offerings to the patrons. The sixth verse of the third chapter of the Discourse on the Basis. In short: Stupas of hair and nails, white butter lamps, houses and butter lamp containers, wool, cattle, nuns, and horse landings. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika's Garden. The householder Anathapindika, being foremost in Dharma, would rise early in the morning and go to prostrate at the feet of the Bhagavan and the Sangha of monks. When the time was a little later, the Bhagavan, in order to show the merit of sentient beings, summoned a barber and had his hair and beard shaved. Then, the householder Anathapindika went to the Jeta Grove, prostrated with his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, and requested the Bhagavan, saying: If the Bhagavan permits, I will build a stupa of hair and nails. The Bhagavan instructed: Therefore, householder, I permit you to build it. In a wide place, together with friends, brothers, and relatives, he made great offerings. The stupa of the Bhagavan's hair and nails, if it is built in a way that is unsightly to all who look upon it, and is not beautiful because it is not plastered with lime. He then went to the presence of the Bhagavan, prostrated with his head at his feet, and said: Bhagavan, the stupa of the Bhagavan's hair and nails that I have built, if it is built in a way that is unsightly to all who look upon it, and is unsightly before it is plastered with lime, please grant permission, Bhagavan, and I will plaster it with lime. The Bhagavan instructed: Therefore, householder, I permit you to plaster it with lime. After he plastered it with lime, he made offerings with incense, perfume, and flowers. At night, without butter lamps, it became unsightly. He then went to where the Bhagavan was, prostrated with his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, and said this to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, my
