There is no fault in what ཽད་གལ་'s son sent by means of miraculous power. The merchants in Shravasti took their wealth and went on a journey, and they went into the wilderness. Many guests were surrounded by thieves, and they did not pray to the gods. Among them, there was a merchant who was approaching Maudgalyayana's village, and he thought, 'If the elder thinks of us, it will be auspicious.' The elder also thought of them, and just as he entered into equanimity of mind, the thieves were surrounded by an army of four divisions. He entered into such a samadhi. Those thieves were frightened and released many guests and fled. Those merchants went to Shravasti auspiciously and safely. They told the monks in detail what had happened, as before. The two sons of Pilinda are as described in the Vinaya. Shakya's son, Nanda, in the last month of summer, how many monks entered the summer retreat, how much offerings were received in the Sangha, he walked and used in the monastery. Those monks whom he went to greeted him with sweet words, and asked, 'Are you well?' After sitting down, he said, 'What offerings are there in the Sangha? Please bring them and divide them. Please accept my share of the clothes.' They brought them and placed them in front of him, and after he divided them, he took the share of the clothes of the elder in the Sangha and stood up. He also said, 'Elder, please do not leave, please stay.' Nanda He is also skilled in sweet words, all kinds of words, proficient in happiness, because he is proficient in reason and liberation, so he preached the Dharma in such a way that the elder would generate faith. He said, 'Please, long-lived one, accept my share of the clothes.' In this way, the second elder, the third elder, and many monks gave him the clothes. He carried those clothes on his shoulder and entered the Jeta Grove. The monks asked the long-lived Nanda, 'Where did you get these clothes?'

Having written, he spoke in detail about what had happened to them. Although such things occurred, the Buddha, the Blessed One, had not yet established the precepts. The two cases of the elderly nuns are as they appear in the extensive Vinaya. A bhikṣu should not take another's share of summer clothing. Whoever takes it commits a transgression. The one called "the one who dwells together with Ānanda," was a virtuous one. He was going near the village of another householder. That householder had two sons, and that householder was also afflicted with illness. He went to inquire about his health, and the householder gave him wealth. Since the two sons received nothing, they blamed Ānanda. Ānanda punished that cohabitant with a punishment. Since he was previously ordained from being a student, he praised about five hundred students and said, "Please forgive my preceptor." Ānanda said, "How can I forgive your preceptor? You take the boys and go to the preceptor, and he will teach you the Dharma. When the teaching of the Dharma is finished, leave the boys and girls and leave." Those children were crying, and he said, "Take those girls and boys and leave." And he said to him, "Also, please forgive that cohabitant." They did as they were instructed, and when the teaching of the Dharma was finished, they left the boys and girls and left. Those children cried very much, and Ānanda said, "Take these boys and girls and leave, why are you leaving?" They said, "Also, please forgive that cohabitant." Ānanda said, "Forgiven. Confess the offense of transgression." In short: a pig and a seedling of a sugar cane tree, the robes of Nanda, a bushel of butter and agarwood, a leopard and a lion are the fifth. The pig and the seedling of a sugar cane tree, and the robes of Nanda, are as they appear in the extensive Vinaya. A bhikṣu of great merit, who was famous among the merchants, another merchant said to him, "Whatever you need and whatever you require, I will offer to you."

Stealing, the attendant of that monk thought, if that merchant steals again and again, how should I sincerely steal from him? Or should I just try stealing from him verbally? Thinking this, he went to that merchant and said, 'The Khenpo needs some butter.' The merchant gave him a can of butter and said, 'Venerable, whether it is bean juice or meat soup, take whatever you need from here.' The attendant replied, 'I will do so.' Then, that monk poured a little butter into that monk's bean juice and meat soup. After some time, that merchant sent a message to that monk, 'Venerable, I have already sent you butter before. In addition, whether it is bean juice or meat soup, take whatever you need.' That monk asked the attendant, 'Did you take butter from that merchant?' The attendant replied, 'I took it.' The monk said, 'Then you have committed a defeat offense.' The attendant said, 'Khenpo, because that merchant steals again and again, in order to test and examine him, I took it and gave it to you, Khenpo.' That monk felt remorse. The Bhagavan said, 'There is no fault, go and ask him, did you take this and that from there?' In short: The happy one and recognition, two wives and five sinners, and ten who are in the womb, and also ten non-bhikshunis. The Buddha Bhagavan was staying at the sandalwood tree place in the country of Vriji. Because the training rules were not established for the monks on the banks of the Happy River, the beginners had no faults, and the monks had doubts, hesitations, and regrets, 'We have not established the training rules, and many monks have died because of this, what is our initial karma?' The Bhagavan said, 'On the banks of the Happy River, when the monks have not established the training rules, all those who have passed away are beginners, and there is no fault for beginners.' The monk separates a person from their livelihood by perceiving them as a non-human, and that monk felt remorse. The Bhagavan said, 'If you perceive a person as a non-human, you will commit a grave offense. If you perceive a non-human as a non-human, you will also commit a grave offense.'
