Those people dug there, and dug for the monks to move around there during the day. When they saw that cow, they released it with compassion, and afterwards they regretted it. The Blessed One said: There is no defeat, but it becomes an act of wrongdoing. In short: a corpse and a golden necklace, hands and mice of two kinds, three goats and two Kogsha grasses, a trap and a birdcage and a bird's nest. When in Shravasti, others prayed to the corpse, and that householder also prayed for a certain need. When that need was fulfilled, he covered it with a white cloth. A monk named Black Monk Joyful went there and took the cloth. The monks said to him: You have committed a defeat. For what reason? Because you took the corpse's cloth without permission. He regretted it. The Blessed One said: There is no defeat, but it becomes a gross offense. In the city of Vaishali, it was heard that a corpse wearing a golden necklace was being guarded by itself. A monk named Black Monk Joyful heard about it and went there. When he tried to take something from the corpse, the corpse spoke. Because he was brave and capable, he snatched the golden necklace and took it away. The monks heard about it and spread it widely in the same way. When many women were bathing on the banks of the Majiravati River, leaving their clothes and jewelry, a monkey came down from the tree, took the jewelry, and climbed back up the tree. When those women came back, they put on their clothes and wanted to take the jewelry, but the pearl necklace was missing, and when they couldn't find it, they cried. Then, that monkey threw the pearl necklace back to the same place. Some monks were walking and sitting not far away, and they saw that pearl necklace, picked it up, and gave it to those women. Those women said: You stole this pearl necklace. The monks said: We didn't steal it. When you were bathing, a monkey came down from the tree, took this pearl necklace, and climbed back up the tree. When you searched and couldn't find it, you cried.

It landed there again and was placed there. Those monks felt remorse, and the Blessed One said: There is no offense. When the monk destroyed the swallow's nest and took the eggs, the swallow made a sound and spread out in that way. Many monks were staying in a monastery, and some mice came out of the mouse hole, stole wealth and food, and went back into the mouse hole. They thought: Who is stealing our things? The monks went for alms and sat in the shade, and the mouse also came out of the hole, took food, and went back into the mouse hole in the same way. Those monks thought: This is the one who is stealing from us. They caught it and showed it to the monks, saying: This is the one who is stealing from us. Those monks said: You have committed a Pārājika offense. Because you took the mouse's things without permission. Those monks felt remorse, and the Blessed One said: There is no offense, take what belongs to the monks. What belongs to the mouse should not be taken. The mouse brought food and drink and placed it under a monk's mattress. That monk first ate a twig in the morning, washed his face, and then accepted the offering and ate those things. The monks said: Venerable, you always wash your hands and feet very cleanly, but you do not enter the village for alms, why is that? He said: I saw the mouse bringing food and drink and placing it under the mattress, and I ate it after accepting the offering in the morning. Venerable, you have committed a Pārājika offense. For what reason? Because you took the mouse's food and drink without permission. After the incident, the monks reported it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said: That monk was the father of the mouse in a previous life. Because he loved his father, the mouse brought food to offer to that monk, there is no offense. A deer was chased by a hunter and fled to the monastery.

came, and those hunters said, "Give back the deer that we shot, it ran to the monastery." They did not get the deer, so they gave up and left. Those monks felt regret. The Blessed One said, "There is no offense. The deer shot by the hunter should also be treated in the same way." A hunter shot a deer with a poisoned arrow, and it came to the monastery. Those hunters said, "We shot this deer with a poisoned arrow, it will surely die, please give it back to us." Those monks did not give it back to them, so they gave up and left. They After leaving, that deer also died. Those monks did not know what to do. The Blessed One said, "Give it back to those hunters. If a monk cuts off a branch to harm a hunter, he will commit a grave offense. If he cuts it off out of compassion, he will commit a minor offense. Similarly, if he cuts off a bird net to harm a bird, he will commit a grave offense. If he cuts it off out of compassion, he will commit a minor offense. If a monk cuts off a bird cage to harm a bird, he will commit a grave offense. If he cuts it off out of compassion, he will commit a minor offense. The bird's nest is also the same.
