I, it is inappropriate to teach and impart learning, and to seek other teachers outside of this, and to believe that sins are eliminated by divination and omens, and not by acts of faith. There are nine objects of desire: this wants to harm me, wants to be unfavorable to me, wants to make me unhappy, does not want me to have happiness, wants me to be unhappy. This has harmed me, is harming me, will harm me, thinking thus, he harms that person. Anyone who wants to harm me, wants to be unfavorable to me, wants to make me unhappy, does not want me to be happy, does not want me to have happiness, this wants not to harm him, wants to benefit him, wants to make him happy, wants him to have happiness, wants him to feel happiness in happiness, this has not harmed him, is not harming him, will not harm him, thinking thus, he harms that person. Furthermore, whoever wants not to harm me, wants to benefit me, wants me to be happy, wants me to have happiness, wants me to be happy, this wants to harm him, wants to be unfavorable to him, wants to make him unhappy, does not want him to have happiness, wants him to be unhappy, and harms him. Nine kinds of harmful actions need to be subdued: this wants to harm me, wants to be unfavorable to me, wants to make me unhappy, does not want me to have happiness, wants me to be unhappy. This has harmed me, is harming me, will harm me, thinking thus, he generates harm towards him and pacifies it again. Anyone who wants to harm me, wants to be unfavorable to me, wants to make me unhappy, does not want me to have happiness, wants me to be unhappy, this does not want to harm him, wants to benefit him, wants to make him happy, wants him to have happiness, wants him to be happy, this has not harmed him, is not harming him, will not harm him, thinking thus, he thinks like this: may I become like this! If I do not become like this, how can I obtain it from others? Thinking thus, he generates harm towards him and pacifies it again. Furthermore, whoever wants not to harm me, wants to benefit me, wants me to be happy, wants me to have happiness, wants me to be happy, this wants to harm him, wants to be unfavorable to him, does not want me to be happy, does not want me to have happiness, wants me to be unhappy.

Since this person has caused harm to that person, (that person) thinks, "(This person) will continue to cause harm," but then he thinks, "How can I become like this, how can I not become like that, how can I obtain it from others?" After thinking like this, (he) uses that (harm) to destroy the harm to him. The ninth (chapter) ends. In short, there are two types of non-subduing, and there are also three types of subduing, namely giving and gathering, and merits, etc., are the last type. The ten non-subduings are the ten paths of non-virtuous actions: killing, not giving, sexual misconduct, lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, idle chatter, malice, greed, and wrong view. In addition, the ten non-subduings are the ten wrong branches: wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong concentration, wrong liberation, and wrong wisdom. The ten subduings are the ten paths of virtuous actions: abandoning killing, abandoning not giving, abandoning sexual misconduct, abandoning lying, abandoning divisive speech, abandoning harsh speech, abandoning idle chatter, abandoning malice, abandoning greed, and abandoning wrong view. In addition, the ten subduings are the ten right branches: right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration, right liberation, and right wisdom. In addition, there are ten subduings: appearing in the time of the Buddha, appearing at any time, appearing for a short time, being universally present, the subduing of time, the subduing of place, the subduing of person, the subduing of dwelling, the subduing of effort, and the subduing of afflictions. Ten ways of gathering: gathering alms bowls,
