The venerable one also well held those dharmas. Thus, these dharmas should be consistent with the sutras. When viewed in relation to the Vinaya, they are also consistent with the sutras. They arise from the Vinaya and do not contradict the nature of dharma. Therefore, this is dharma, this is Vinaya. Know that this is what the Teacher taught, and hold it. These six great admonition lineages should also be extensively spoken of in the same way on the side of purity. There are six kinds of abandonment: abandoning a bhikshu, abandoning a bhikshuni, abandoning both, abandoning each separately, abandoning a person, and abandoning through generating the mind [of enlightenment]. Furthermore, there are six abandonments: abandoning through faith, abandoning through purity, abandoning through material possessions, abandoning through requisites, abandoning through medicine, and abandoning through time. There are six kinds of decline: decline of oneself, decline of others, decline of discipline, decline of views, decline of conduct, and decline of livelihood. There are six kinds of perfection: perfection of oneself, perfection of others, perfection of discipline, perfection of views, perfection of conduct, and perfection of livelihood. The sacred Vinaya text, chapter twenty-seven. In summary: Pleasing and stealing, Manifest transformation is also like that, Declined transformation and non-transformation, Six actions and teachings. What is called "pleasing" is the thought, for those virtuous ones who practice the same Brahma-conduct as the Teacher, "May my body abide closely in loving-kindness." This dharma is pleasing, that is, it makes one happy. As a teacher, it is satisfying, one should be happy, one should be a teacher, one should be respectful, one should practice, one should hold, one should be harmonious, one should not be resentful, one should not argue, and in order to unify things, one engages in loving-kindness of speech and loving-kindness of mind. Whatever dharma wealth is obtained lawfully, if it is small and comes into the bowl, or belongs to the retinue of the bowl, such gains should be shared with the virtuous ones who practice the same Brahma-conduct. This dharma is pleasing. In order to unify things.

Until "enter," as before. Whatever these precepts are unbroken, undamaged, unmixed, not become defiled, undiminished, without fault, perfectly complete, well-received, praised by the wise, such precepts are practiced equally with Brahma, together with the wise, may they become common precepts, this Dharma is pleasing. Until "enter for the sake of oneness," as before. In order to completely exhaust suffering for the noble ones, and to arise for the sake of reaching the end of suffering, and whatever is the view of definite arising, that is practiced equally with Brahma, together with the wise, may it become a common view, this Dharma is pleasing. Until "enter for the sake of oneness," as before. Six kinds of stealing: stealing by stealth, stealing by deception, stealing by force, stealing by saying it is giving, stealing greedily, and stealing by colluding with others. In six manifest places, one should receive full ordination: the teacher is manifest, the Dharma is manifest, the Sangha is manifest, complete purity is manifest, the आचार्य (Sanskrit: Ācārya, आचार्य, ācārya, teacher) is manifest, and the Upadhyaya (Sanskrit: Upādhyāya, उपाध्याय, upādhyāya, preceptor) is manifest. Six dharmas are the cause of the decline of the teacher's teachings: being fond of work, being fond of speech, being fond of sleep, being fond of idle talk, not abandoning gain, respect, and fame, liking not to abandon, and because of believing in not abandoning, not liking to abandon, not entering into yoga, not liking meditation, and because of not believing in meditation, not liking meditation, and not entering into yoga. Six dharmas are the cause of the non-decline of the teacher's teachings: not being fond of work, not being fond of speech, not being fond of sleep, not being fond of idle talk, not being fond of gain and respect, liking to abandon, and because of believing in abandoning, liking to abandon, entering into yoga, liking meditation, and because of believing in meditation, liking meditation.
