Likewise, the Vinaya rules of Upāli (Sanskrit: Upāli) and the giving of alms by the ordained are also the same. In short, the root of disputes is six admonishments, activities and teachings are also the same, the decline that should be abandoned and the things that should be eliminated are also the same. Monks, here the root of disputes is sixfold: a monk has anger and resentment. Monks, whoever is a monk who is angry and harbors resentment, he will not regard the teacher as his master, will not respect him, will not obey him, and will not make offerings to him. Because he does not respect the teacher, does not regard him as his master, does not respect him, does not obey him, and does not make offerings to him, he cannot see the Dharma. Not seeing the Dharma, he will not serve the Sangha with reverence. Not serving the Sangha with reverence, he will indulge in his own practice. Indulging in his own practice will lead to fighting, exposing shortcomings, harboring resentment, and arguing with the Sangha. Fighting, exposing shortcomings, harboring resentment, and arguing are not beneficial to many people, not for the benefit of many people, but cause suffering to many people. For gods and humans, it is also meaningless, unprofitable, and painful. Monks, if you see such a root of dispute within yourselves or externally, and you have not abandoned it, and you follow it, live in harmony with it, and are very happy, then you should generate great faith, diligence, effort, and joy. After generating joy, do not lose mindfulness and wisdom until the root of the dispute is abandoned, and strive. Similarly, monks, if you see the root of dispute within yourselves or externally, and you have not abandoned it, you should live in harmony with it, feel happy, and strive with mindfulness that is strictly guarded by the mind until the faults of the root of dispute are exhausted. After the root of your dispute is completely destroyed, it will not happen again in the future. Just like harboring resentment, concealing, anger, jealousy, stinginess, deception, hypocrisy, shamelessness, fearlessness, being conceited about one's own views

These are the words that are difficult to abandon when clinging to them, and they should be widely proclaimed. There are six types of admonishments: the admonishment of the Buddha, the admonishment of the Sangha, the admonishment of the teacher, the admonishment of the preceptor, the admonishment of the king, and the admonishment of the thief. There are six types of work that a male lay follower should not do: selling sentient beings, selling weapons, selling alcohol, selling poison, working as a hired laborer, and making oil from grain. There are six dark teachings: For example, to the monks, a monk might say, "Venerable ones, I have directly heard and received from the Blessed One, this is the Dharma, this is the Vinaya, this is what the Teacher taught." That monk should neither rejoice nor criticize what was said. Without rejoicing or criticizing, he should take the words, meanings, and letters together, compare them with the Sutras, and consult the Vinaya. If, when compared with the Sutras and consulted with the Vinaya, it does not agree with the Sutras, does not arise from the Vinaya, and contradicts the Dharma nature, then he should say to that monk, "Venerable one, this Dharma of yours was not spoken by the Blessed One. Or, venerable one, you have wrongly grasped this Dharma." Therefore, I have compared this Dharma with the Sutras and consulted the Vinaya, but it does not agree with the Sutras, does not arise from the Vinaya, and contradicts the Dharma nature, so know that this is not the Dharma, this is not the Vinaya, this is not what the Teacher taught, and abandon it. Furthermore, to the monks, a monk might say, "Venerable ones, in the place called so-and-so, there dwells a great Sangha of monks with elders, possessing individual liberation. Venerable ones, I have directly heard and received from those Sanghas of monks, this is the Dharma, this is the Vinaya, this is what the Teacher taught." That monk should neither rejoice nor criticize this, but should take the words, meanings, and letters together, compare them with the Sutras, and consult the Vinaya. If, when compared with the Sutras and consulted with the Vinaya, it does not agree with the Sutras, does not arise from the Vinaya, and the Dharma
