If regret arises, what happens? An offense is committed. Similarly, if monks who are mentally disturbed, afflicted by illness, foolish, mute, deaf, asleep, drunk, intoxicated, in meditative absorption, or in other states of existence, generate regret, all of them will become offenses. In short, speech, body, solitary places, mantras, names, and the fourth, seventh, and householders, etc., the rest are nuns. Monk, if a noble monk generates regret in the language of the noble ones, and if that monk does not understand the language of the noble ones, what happens? An offense is committed.
