If one excessively begs at someone's dwelling, and also begs at the dwelling of a householder who has changed their name and been reborn, what happens? It becomes a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. The same applies to nuns. Monks, if a monk, in order to make clothes, begs from a weaver four times, five times, six times or more, and begs for the purpose of making clothes, and the clothes are manifestly completed, what happens? It becomes a Pacittiya offense. Similarly, all hermaphrodites will commit a Pacittiya offense. Monks, if a monk excessively begs for monks, nuns, Sikkhamanas, male novices, and female novices, what happens? It becomes a Pacittiya offense. Monks, if a monk excessively begs for other items besides these, what happens? It becomes a Pacittiya offense. Monks, if someone who has taken vows begs more than six times, what happens? It becomes a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. If a nun begs, what happens? It becomes a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Sikkhamanas, female novices, and male novices will commit a Pacittiya offense. In summary: letters, written messages, gestures, the words of others, from one to another, becoming mad and mentally disturbed, being sick, deaf, dumb. Monks, if a monk asks for a cushion to be made through a messenger, what happens? It becomes a Pacittiya offense. Similarly, letters, gestures, the words of others, passing from one to another, madmen, mentally disturbed, those afflicted by illness, the deaf, the mute, the blind, and the foolish—all of these will commit a Pacittiya offense. Just as if a monk has a cushion made from silk, it becomes a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense, so too giving to those who have taken vows will become a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Nuns, Sikkhamanas, female novices, and male novices will commit a Pacittiya offense. Just as this chapter on the place of vows is detailed, so too is the case with wool that is naturally black. What is different in that? There are four differences: for wool that is naturally black, recognizing it as naturally black is the basis. Similarly, everything should be stated about the second place of vows. What is different in that? A monk using white wool and a small amount of inferior wool.

Thinking it is little and mixing it, that is the basis. In short, what others have not finished, what is taken, and other non-Buddhists, inappropriate names and the fourth, the seventh of the Sugata. The venerable Upali asked the Buddha, the Bhagavan: Venerable, if the Bhagavan allows a monk to make a seat within six years, will it become something to be abandoned? The Bhagavan said: Venerable, if a monk has someone else make it, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. If he has it made for someone else, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. Venerable, if a monk thinks that something that is not his is his, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. If he has a householder make it, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. Similarly, if he has the father of a novice, one who has been ordained, one who has previously quarreled, one who has previously committed an offense, one who dwells in theft, one who dwells separately, or one who does not dwell, all will become misdeeds. Venerable, if a monk has a non-Buddhist from here to there, another monk, a Brahmin, a practitioner, or a wanderer make it, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. Venerable, if a monk has practitioners dwelling in other places make it, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. Venerable, is there a case where a monk makes a seat within six years that does not become something to be abandoned? Upali, there is. In any case, if the material of that seat is suitable but the wool is not, or the wool is suitable but the material is not, or both are not suitable. What is not suitable is: the wool of a nanny goat, the wool of a cow, the wool of a sheep, mixed with the wool of a deer, and what has not been woven, all will become misdeeds. Venerable, if a monk makes a seat within six years, and then transforms into a nun, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. Venerable, if a nun makes a seat within six years, and then transforms into a monk, what will happen? It will become something to be abandoned. Venerable, if a monk thinks it has been more than six years and makes a seat, what will happen? There is no fault. If he thinks it has been more than six years but it has not been, and has it made, what will happen? He commits a misdeed. If he thinks it has not been more than six years but thinks it has been
