However, if he says: I have no alms bowl, no Dharma robes, and no means of livelihood for a monk. If he says this, he will commit a gross offense. If a monk says this: I have fallen. If he says this, what will happen? If he says: I have fallen from the fruit of a renunciate. If he says this, he will commit a defeat. If a monk says this: I am liberated. If he says this, what will happen? If he says: I am liberated from attachment, bondage, latent tendencies, near afflictions, and all entanglements. If he says this, he will commit a defeat. If a monk says this: I have no fear, what will happen? If he declares that he has abandoned fear, he will commit a defeat. If he says: I am not afraid of worldly things at all.
