Venerable, if one who has taken vows seeks the summer rain-cloth very quickly, or holds it for a very long time, what will happen? It will be abandoned. Venerable, if a male novice seeks the summer rain-cloth very quickly, or holds it for a very long time, what will happen? It is a minor offense. Venerable, if a nun seeks the summer rain-cloth, what will happen? It is a minor offense. If she holds it for more than ten days, it will be abandoned. If a female trainee and a female novice seek the summer rain-cloth, or hold it for more than ten days, they will commit a minor offense. In short, letters, written messages, gestures, what others say, and from one to another, becoming mad and mentally disturbed, being sick, deaf, dumb, and foolish.
