Monks, if a monk directly gives gold and silver to a householder to take, what happens? He commits an offense entailing forfeiture. Similarly, an eunuch, one who has denounced a bhikkhuni, a father, a mother, one who has killed an arhat, one who has caused dissension in the Sangha, one who has maliciously drawn blood from the Tathagata, one who has become a heretic, a thief's dwelling, one who dwells separately, one who does not dwell, one who is approaching, one who has previously quarreled, one who has previously committed an offense, and those who have been given the precepts, if they directly take or cause to be taken, all will commit an offense entailing forfeiture. Monks, is there a case where a monk takes gold and silver himself or causes it to be taken without incurring an offense? Upali, there is. However, that is when a monk takes gold and silver but does not generate the thought of possessing it. Such as letters and gestures, for the sake of others and speaking of others, and transmission from one to another. Venerable one, if a monk engages in transactions with various kinds of wealth together with a madman, what happens? It is a transgression. Similarly, if one engages in transactions with various kinds of wealth together with those who are mentally disturbed, afflicted by illness, foolish, deaf, mute, and those who dwell in other realms, all of them become transgressions. In short, names and four, seven are like that. Likewise, there are also the precepts, similarities, relatives, and the last one is a nun. Venerable one, if a monk perceives a person as a person and engages in transactions with various kinds of wealth, what happens? It should be abandoned. If one perceives a person as a non-person, what happens? It is a transgression. Perceiving a non-person as a person, what happens? It is a transgression. Perceiving a non-person as a non-person, what happens? It is a transgression. Venerable one, if one who has not taken full ordination engages in transactions with various kinds of wealth, and attains realization without having taken full ordination, what happens? It is a transgression. Preparing for one who has not taken full ordination, and about to take full ordination, and attains realization, what happens? It is a transgression. Preparing for one who has not taken full ordination, and having taken full ordination, and attains realization, what happens? It is a transgression. Preparing for one who is about to take full ordination, and about to take full ordination, and attains realization, what happens? It is a transgression. Preparing for one who is about to take full ordination, and having taken full ordination, and attains realization, what happens? It is a transgression.
