It is a misdeed. Similarly, one should extensively explain regarding the gains of those who have taken vows as bhikshus and those who were initially discordant. Bhikshu, if a bhikshu says this regarding the gains of those who cause discord in the sangha: 'Venerable ones, dedicate the gains of the sangha to a certain person,' what happens? It is a downfall. Similarly, if one says this regarding the gains of those bhikshus who, with malicious intent, draw blood from the Tathagata, and those who dwell separately: 'Venerable ones, out of friendship, dedicate the gains of the sangha to a certain person,' what happens? It is a downfall. Bhikshu, are there cases where a bhikshu, having previously properly allowed it, then says: 'Venerable ones, out of friendship, dedicate the gains of the sangha to a certain person,' and it does not become a downfall? Near Attendant, yes, there are. For example, if the type of that monastic robe is permissible but the material is not, or if the material is permissible but the type is not, or if neither is permissible. What is not permissible is: coarse wool, cow hair, animal hair, mixed with sheep's wool, and unspun wool. For the sake of such a monastic robe, if one says: 'Venerable ones, thus out of friendship, dedicate the gains of the sangha to a certain person,' what happens? It is a misdeed. Bhikshu, if one obtains a monastic robe of the sangha that is not a full cubit in length, and the bhikshu has previously properly allowed it, and then says: 'Venerable ones, out of friendship, dedicate the gains of the sangha to a certain person,' what happens?
