It will become an offense entailing forfeiture. For nuns, novices, and female novices, there is no offense. For cases where offenses have occurred previously, it is a misdeed. In summary: messengers, letters, gestures, falsely accusing others, transmission, madness, mental disturbance, sensory impairment, deafness, and those who walk. The Venerable Ananda asked the Blessed One: Venerable, the Blessed One once said that if a monk's bowl does not have five patches, although it can be used, but in order to desire a good one, he seeks another new bowl, and if he obtains the bowl, it is an offense entailing forfeiture. That monk should give that bowl to the community of monks, and whatever is the worst bowl in that community of monks, from that monk onwards, you, monk, should not bless this bowl, do not abandon it, do not give it to others, but use it slowly and gently until the end of its breakage.
