感觉迟钝者、聋子、愚者，以及睡眠、昏迷、烂醉者，还有入定者、行路者和外道徒。具寿阿难向世尊提问：尊者，世尊曾说，比丘在剩余一个索迦月时，应寻找夏季的粗布衣；夏季的月份要留半个月才能持有。如果比丘在剩余一个索迦月之前寻找夏季的粗布衣，或者在夏季的月份留半个月之后才持有，则犯舍堕罪。这是什么意思呢？ 《律藏根本论》，第八卷。尊者，如果比丘从信使处过早地寻求夏季的粗布衣，并获得了法衣，会怎么样呢？犯恶作罪。如果持有过久，会怎么样呢？会犯舍堕罪。如同信使一样，通过书信、手势、指责他人和传递信息也是一样的。无论比丘多么稍微地过早寻求，又多么稍微地持有过久，都会犯舍堕罪。尊者，如果比丘从疯子处过早地寻求夏季的粗布衣，并获得了法衣，会怎么样呢？犯恶作罪。如果持有过久，会怎么样呢？会犯舍堕罪。如同疯子一样，心神散乱者、感觉迟钝者、愚者、聋子、睡眠者、无暇者、烂醉者、入定者、住在别处者，以及与此相反的外道徒、沙门、婆罗门、修行者和到处游荡者，如果从这些人处过早地寻求并获得了法衣，会怎么样呢？犯恶作罪。如果持有过久，会怎么样呢？会犯舍堕罪。 总结：不应理者与具相者，同样共同者与非共同者，未成熟者与狮子皮，四类比丘如何？尊者，比丘过早地寻求夏季的粗布衣，即使持有过久也不会犯舍堕罪的情况是……

Those with dull senses, the deaf, the foolish, as well as those who are sleeping, comatose, or heavily intoxicated, and those who are in meditative absorption, those who are walking, and outsiders. The venerable Ānanda asked the Blessed One: Venerable One, the Blessed One has said that a bhikkhu should seek coarse summer cloth when one Sogaka month remains; the summer months should be kept for half a month. If a bhikkhu seeks coarse summer cloth before one Sogaka month remains, or keeps it after half a month remains in the summer months, he commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. What does this mean? The Mūlasarvāstivāda Vinaya, Volume Eight. Venerable One, if a bhikkhu seeks coarse summer cloth too early from a messenger and obtains a Dharma garment, what happens? He commits a Dukkaṭa offense. If he keeps it for too long, what happens? He commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Just like a messenger, it is the same through letters, gestures, blaming others, and passing on information. No matter how slightly a bhikkhu seeks too early and keeps it for too long, he will commit a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Venerable One, if a bhikkhu seeks coarse summer cloth too early from a madman and obtains a garment, what happens? He commits a Dukkaṭa offense. If he keeps it for too long, what happens? He commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Just like a madman, those who are mentally distracted, those with dull senses, the foolish, the deaf, those who are sleeping, those who are without leisure, those who are heavily intoxicated, those who are in meditative absorption, those who dwell elsewhere, and others who are contrary to this, such as non-Buddhists, Śramaṇas, Brahmins, practitioners, and wanderers, if they seek too early from these people and obtain a garment, what happens? He commits a Dukkaṭa offense. If he keeps it for too long, what happens? He commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. Summary: The unreasonable and the characterized, likewise the common and the uncommon, the immature and the lion's skin, how are the four types of bhikkhus?
