That old cushion, it's okay to discard it, it's okay not to discard it. If a new cushion is made, without the permission of the Sangha, it is an offense of expiation. What is being said? Bhikshu, if a bhikshu has someone else make a new cushion, what will happen? He will commit an offense of expiation. If a new cushion is made for someone else, what will happen? He will commit an offense of wrong-doing. Bhikshu, if a bhikshu finishes another's old cushion, what will happen? He will commit an offense of wrong-doing. If a new cushion is made in front of a householder, what will happen? He will commit an offense of expiation. Similarly, for a śrāmaṇera, śrāmaṇerī, śikṣamāṇā, a female trainee, one who was initially not in harmony, one who has previously committed an offense, one who lives by stealing, one who lives separately, one who should not live there, up to the one who acknowledges, if a new cushion is made for them, what will happen? He will commit an offense of expiation. Bhikshu, if a bhikshu makes a new cushion for these outsiders of other sects, such as śramaṇas, brahmins, and practitioners, what will happen? He will commit an offense of expiation. Bhikshu, if a bhikshu makes a new cushion for beings living in other places, what will happen? He will commit an offense of wrong-doing. Bhikshu, if a bhikshu makes a new cushion within six years, will he not commit an offense of expiation? Ānanda, yes, there is such a case. Like this, the edge of that cushion is acceptable, but the material is not; the material is acceptable, but the edge is not; or both are not acceptable. What is not acceptable is making it from a mixture of black sheep's wool, cow hair, wild animal hair, goat hair, etc., what will happen? He will commit an offense of wrong-doing. Bhikshu, if a bhikshu makes a new cushion within six years, but later changes sex and becomes a bhikshuni, and touches it with her hand, what will happen? He will commit an offense of wrong-doing. 如果认为得到了而接受新的坐垫，会怎么样呢？没有堕落。如果认为得到了却没有得到，会怎么样呢？是恶作。如果认为没有得到却得到了，会怎么样呢？没有堕落。如果认为没有得到也没有得到，会怎么样呢？会犯舍堕罪。诸位，如果比丘接受了六年之内按照善逝的法衣尺寸制作的新坐垫，会怎么样呢？是恶作。诸位，如果未受具足戒者在六年之内准备制作新的坐垫，并且在未受具足戒之前完成了，会怎么样呢？是恶作。应当详细讲述七个一组的内容。 总结：信使、文字、手势，向他人嫁祸、传递，疯子、精神错乱，感觉、聋子、傻子。 诸位，如果比丘接受了六年之内信使送来的新坐垫，会怎么样呢？是恶作。同样，文字、手势、向他人嫁祸、传递、疯子、精神错乱、感觉迟钝、傻子和聋子送来的新坐垫，会怎么样呢？是恶作。正如比丘在六年之内制作新的坐垫会犯舍堕罪一样，给予学处也会犯舍堕罪。对于比丘尼来说，是恶作。对于比丘尼、沙弥、沙弥尼以及以前犯过堕落罪的人等等，应当说是恶作。 总结：从他人处获得他人的剩余，在家众、外道、行走者，不合适者和名称，以及四组和七组。 具寿阿难陀向佛陀世尊请教：诸位，世尊，比丘制作新的坐垫，为了使新的颜色不悦目，应当用善逝的一拃围绕旧的坐垫缝边。如果比丘为了使新的颜色不悦目，没有用善逝的一拃围绕旧的坐垫缝边就使用新的坐垫，会犯舍堕罪。

Bhikshus, if one who has not taken full ordination prepares to make a new seat within six years, and completes it before taking full ordination, what happens? It is a misdeed. The seven groups should be explained in detail. Summary: Messenger, writing, gesture, blaming others, transmission, madman, mental confusion, feeling, deaf, idiot. Bhikshus, if a bhikshu accepts a new seat sent by a messenger within six years, what happens? It is a misdeed. Similarly, if a new seat is sent by writing, gesture, blaming others, transmission, a madman, mental confusion, one who is weak in feeling, an idiot, or a deaf person, what happens? It is a misdeed. Just as a bhikshu commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense by making a new seat within six years, so too does giving instruction. For a bhikshuni, it is a misdeed. For a bhikshuni, a novice, a female novice, and those who have previously committed offenses, etc., it should be said that it is a misdeed. Summary: From others, the remainder of others, householders, heretics, travelers, unsuitable ones and names, as well as four groups and seven groups. Ayushman Ananda asked the Buddha, the Bhagavan: Bhikshus, Bhagavan, when a bhikshu makes a new seat, in order to make the new color unattractive, the old seat should be hemmed around with a span of the Sugata. If a bhikshu, in order to make the new color unattractive, uses a new seat without hemming the old seat around with a span of the Sugata, he will commit a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense.
