If a monk gives an old monastic robe to a non-relative nun to wash, what happens? If it has been fully used by a person and has become dirty due to being fully used, it becomes an offense. However, if it is allowed to wash an object of residence, there is no transgression. Monk, if for a while an old robe is given to a non-relative nun to wash, and as a result she disrobes and becomes a nun, what happens? It is an offense. Monk, if for a while a monk gives an old robe to a non-relative nun to wash, and as a result that nun disrobes and becomes a monk, what happens? It is an offense. Monk, if for a while a monk gives an old robe to a non-relative nun to wash, and as a result that nun disrobes and becomes a monk and is killed, what happens? It is an offense. Similarly, it should also be applied to nuns. Monk, is there a case where a monk gives an old robe to a non-relative nun to wash, but it does not become an offense of abandonment? Near-round, yes. For example, the type of that robe is permissible, but the material is not permissible; or the material is permissible, but the type is not permissible; or both are not permissible. What is not permissible is: musk wool, cow hair, wild animal wool, mixed with sheep wool, and unspun. If such a robe is washed, what happens? It is an offense. Monk, if for a while a monk gives an abandoned old robe to a non-relative nun to wash, what happens? If he allows an unabandoned one to be washed, it becomes an offense of abandonment. However, if he allows an abandoned one to be washed, it becomes an offense. Monk, if for a while a monk gives another's old robe to a non-relative nun to wash, what happens? It is an offense. Monk, does a monk have permissible robes, and abandoning entering the village, and arising? Near-round, yes. If entrusting to laywomen and, other non-Buddhists and, ascetics and, Brahmins and, practitioners and, wanderers, what would happen? A misdeed. Similarly, if entrusting to those who dwell in other realms, what would happen? A misdeed. If a bhikkhuni entrusts to a bhikkhu and, a novice and, other non-Buddhists and, ascetics and, Brahmins and, practitioners and, wanderers and, those who dwell in other realms, what would happen? A misdeed. If entrusting to laymen and, laywomen, what would happen? A misdeed. To a female novice and, a novice and, a female trainee? A misdeed. To those who have previously committed offenses, etc.? A misdeed, just as before. Similarly, one should speak extensively about cooking and washing as well. In summary: Messenger, letter, gesture, and, Accusing others, transmission, and, Madwoman and mental disturbance, and, Sensation, deaf, mute, and idiot, and, Sleep, delirium, extreme intoxication, and, Absorption, likewise walking, and, Promise, desire, and so forth, Are the final precepts given. The venerable Ananda asked the Blessed One Buddha: Venerable, the Blessed One said that if a bhikkhu receives robes from a bhikkhuni who is not a relative, except for exchange, it is an offense entailing forfeiture. What does that mean? Venerable, if a bhikkhu asks a bhikkhuni who is not a relative for robes through a messenger, what would happen? A misdeed. If he obtains the robes, what would happen? Only a misdeed. Similarly, through letters and, gestures and, accusing others and, transmission, if he receives robes from that bhikkhuni who is not a relative, what would happen? A misdeed. Venerable, if a bhikkhu asks a madwoman who is not a relative for robes, what would happen? A misdeed. If he obtains the robes, what would happen? Only a misdeed. Similarly, mental disturbance and, feeling distressed and, idiocy and, deafness and, sleep and, leisure and, extreme intoxication and, absorption and, dwelling in other realms and, dwelling separately and, a promiser and, a hermaphrodite and, expelling a bhikkhuni, from extensively the initial discord.
