If a (bhikshu) claims to have attained superior human qualities without actually possessing them, what will happen? He will commit a grave offense. Bhikshu, if a (bhikshu) hears about superior human qualities from others and then claims to have attained them himself, what will happen? He will commit a grave offense. Bhikshu, if a (bhikshu) claims to have attained superior human qualities for the sake of others, what will happen? He will commit a grave offense. Bhikshu, if a (bhikshu) claims to have attained superior human qualities but ultimately does not change (the precepts), does such a situation exist? It does. For those who have previously committed a downfall, those who are in a state of theft, those who are initially discordant, eunuchs, female novices, and bhikkhunis who have been expelled, a misdeed will be committed.
