Speak thus: May the Sangha of monks, including the Venerable Mahakashyapa, be free from illness. There is a slight matter for the Sangha, please summon quickly. After the Venerable Mahakashyapa spoke thus, the Venerable Gangpo, having heard from the Venerable Mahakashyapa, how does one abide in mental equanimity? Disappearing from the city of Kusa, he abides in such samadhi in the empty palace of the Shirisha tree. Then, the Venerable Gangpo went to where the Venerable Gavampati was, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Venerable Gavampati, and spoke thus to the Venerable Gavampati: May the Sangha of monks, including the Venerable Mahakashyapa, be free from illness, Venerable Gavampati. There is a slight matter for the Sangha, please summon quickly. Thus he spoke. Although he is free from desire, yet stained by the habit of compassion, Venerable Gangpo, has the Blessed One not gone to other worlds for the sake of taming? Do the Sangha of monks not fight, quarrel, debate, and expose faults? Has the Dharma wheel turned by the Tathagata not been universally obstructed by the heretics? Have they not gathered together and harmed the Sangha of the Tathagata's disciples? Has the Tathagata, like the sun, not been despised by the ascetics, Brahmins, practitioners, and wanderers who are under the influence of afflictions? Have those with intelligence obscured by the darkness of ignorance not created dissension in the assembled Sangha? Have there not arisen words, letters, and nets of views similar to the Dharma and Vinaya spoken by the Tathagata? Have the Brahmacharis not turned their minds away from reading, reciting, and contemplating, and gathered together to speak idle talk? Have they not, with minds filled with doubt and hesitation, declared what is not Dharma as Dharma, what is Dharma as not Dharma, what is not Vinaya as Vinaya, and what is Vinaya as not Vinaya? Monks, obscured by the stain of miserliness, have they not, towards the suddenly arriving Brahmacharis, universally rejoiced in the six Dharmas, etc...
