Those people stretched out their legs and sat there, starting to string flowers. Unbelievers saw them and said: "Alas, noble mothers, did you only ordain from the bead-stringing woman?" They were ridiculed, and when those people sat there without speaking, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: "Monks, the basis for the ridicule of the unbelievers is improper. Therefore, nuns should not sit in doorways and courtyards to string flowers. If nuns sit in doorways and courtyards to string rosaries, it will become a serious violation. If you know anything else, you should string them in a secluded place. If nuns sit in doorways and courtyards to string flowers, it will become a serious violation." The summary is: pottery and the business of alcohol, the buying and selling of house foundations, likewise shop foundations, etc., and one should not hold images of demons. The Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika's Garden Monastery. The abundant woman went to the potter and said: "Good-faced one, can you make a pottery bowl?" He said: "Noble mother, if you know like that, how big should I make it? Make a big one." Noble mother, what do you need such a big pottery bowl for? Miser, if you don't let me do it for free, then pay the full price and give alms. She thought: "I have nothing to mortgage, so let's do it," and so she made a big pottery bowl. She said: "Make another one that can be put in here." He made another one, and in this way made seven. The abundant woman had the nuns wipe them clean, and with a net woven of five-colored threads, she put them in one by one, put them on the heads of the nuns, and went to the place where she had been invited to a feast. After going there, she spread them out and sat down, and the Brahmins and householders said: "Noble mother, are you visiting the potter's shop?" She said: "Miser, what do you know? For the time being, I will take food here, I will take drinks here, I will take rice porridge here, I will take vegetables here. Noble mother, will you take other things like that too?"

said, "Even if you are not old, you may still obtain it." When he had spoken and sat there without saying anything, the monks heard it and reported it to the Blessed One. The Blessed One thought, "The fault lies in the fact that the bhikkhunis are carrying alms bowls. Therefore, the bhikkhunis should not carry alms bowls." Thinking this, the Blessed One declared: "Monks, therefore the bhikkhunis should not carry alms bowls. If bhikkhunis carry alms bowls, they will commit a serious offense. Furthermore, tilted vessels, salt containers, and drinking cups should be carried." The Vinayavastu, Volume Forty-Four. The story originated in Shravasti. In Shravasti, another householder took a wife from the same lineage, and he played with her, rejoiced, and enjoyed himself. As he played, rejoiced, and enjoyed himself, a daughter was born with a defect in her right eye, and because the daughter with the defect in her right eye was inauspicious, no one took her. In Shravasti, another householder took a wife, and she passed away due to her own karma. Similarly, he took from the second to the third, up to the seventh, and they also passed away due to their own karma. Therefore, his name was known everywhere as "wife-killer, wife-killer." He proposed to another person's daughter, and that person said, "Will my daughter also be sent away?" He proposed to a widow, and she said, "Am I myself to be sent away?" He began to do the household chores himself. A friend of his came to his house and asked what his name was. They said, "He has gone inside to do the household chores." The friend said: Can't you have your wives cook, assign tasks, and do work? Why do you do the household chores yourself?" He said, "Friend, I can do it, but if I take a wife, she will pass away due to her own karma. Similarly, if I take a second, third, up to the seventh wife, they will also pass away due to their own karma."
