Didn't they say, "The noble one is skillful means"? Having said, "I have seen him," he left. Those nuns also came to the summer retreat. The monk who gave the instructions also came to the gatehouse one day later, stayed for a short time, and then left. After some time, the abbot of the Sangha made a request, and the monk in charge of discipline said to the monks: "Who among the nuns has taken the full ordination?" Some monks said, "I don't know." The monks thought: "Surely no nuns have come, and no one has taken the full ordination." Without asking other monks, the abbot of the Sangha recited the Pratimoksha Sutra, and the Sangha performed the Uposatha. After some time, at the next Uposatha, the nuns who were to take the full ordination came, but the one who gave the precepts was not there, so they waited for a long time and then came to the summer retreat. The nuns' Sangha also did not perform the Uposatha. The next day, all the nuns gathered together and said: "Why doesn't the noble Sangha invite the monk who gives us the precepts?" The monks said: "Sisters, at the past Uposatha, to which teaching monk did you speak the full ordination?" The nuns who were to take the full ordination said: "We spoke the full ordination to a noble one of such color and such size, who was contemplating the wheel of existence in the gatehouse." Those monks, knowing from the signs that he was a livelihood-seeker, said: "That is not a nun, but did you only speak to that livelihood-seeker?" At that time, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One considered that the fault was in not asking the name of the monk who gave the nuns the instructions. Therefore, thinking that the name of the one who gave the nuns the instructions should be asked, there was no offense in what those nuns said to the monks. Therefore, nuns who are to take the full ordination...

One should ask the name of the monk who imparts the precepts. If we speak without asking the name of the teacher who imparts the precepts, it will become a serious offense. The Blessed One said that fully ordained nuns should ask the name of the monk who imparts the precepts. When those nuns, knowing the name of the monk who imparts the precepts, asked again, the monks then reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: If they know his name, they should not ask. If they do not know, they should ask. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Prajāvatī Gautamī) was in the field, and the nuns came to her and asked: Holy Mother, how are you? She said: Daughters, my back aches. They said: Holy Mother, what are you wearing? She said: Daughters, when I was a householder, I lived in the house and wore a hat. Holy Mother, why don't you wear it now? Daughters, now that I am ordained, how can I wear it if the Blessed One does not allow it? At that time, the nuns repeated this matter to the monks. The monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: Therefore, allow the nuns to wear hats in the summer residence. The origin of the story is in Rajagriha. A Brahmin beggar from Rajagriha wandered around and entered another house, saying: May there be well-being! Give me alms. The householder said: Brahmin, there is nothing at all, go away. He came out and left. The great Prajāvatī Gautamī (梵文天城体:Prajāvatī Gautamī,梵文罗马拟音:Prajāvatī Gautamī,汉语字面意思:Prajāvatī Gautamī) also entered that house for alms. The Brahmin thought: If this bald Shramana also enters, perhaps they will not give anything to her either? I should watch her alone. Thinking this, he looked for an opportunity and stayed there for a while. He heard the news that "the Buddha's mother has passed away," hurriedly got up, spread out a seat, and went away very happily, filling the bowl with clean and delicious food and offering it to her. That Brahmin was stingy and intolerant.

Having risen and gone, he said: Holy mother, please wait a moment and see what abundant things are in the bowl. She also honestly pointed it out. The Brahmin spat in the bowl. The mother of beings, Gautami, said: Child, why do you ruin alms? If you were to ask, I would give as you wish. The Brahmin stood there ashamed and speechless, at which point the nuns repeated the matter to the monks. The monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One thought: The nature of women easily offends other ordinary people, just like the foolish Brahmin man, who also created much non-merit. Therefore, the nuns should carry bowl covers, and thinking this, he said: Monks, the nature of women easily offends other ordinary people, just like the foolish Brahmin man, who also created much non-merit. Therefore, permission is granted for the nuns to carry bowl covers. After the Blessed One said that the nuns should carry bowl covers, the nuns did not know what kind of bowl covers they should carry, at which point they repeated the matter to the monks. The monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One instructed: The bowl cover is the container for the bowl, put the bowl in it, and then the nuns can go for alms. The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Many people in the east like to play in the gardens. At another time, Shravasti welcomed the festival, and those people went to the gardens with clean and delicious food and drinks. They told their wives: Please weave flower garlands and send them. Various kinds of good flowers grew in the gardens of those places, and those flowers also thought that they were going to be sent, so they hurriedly picked flowers from the gardens, but they did not know how to weave them. They told the flower garland weavers: Weave the flower garlands and send them. Those people on that day
