Then. Alas, other beings are also born here. Alas, up to where other beings are also born here. Ananda, this is the sixth cause and the sixth condition for the great earthquake. Furthermore, Ananda, at the time when the Thus-Gone One has blessed the activity of life, and abandoned the activity of life, the great earth will shake violently, meteors will fall, sounds will come from all directions, and the gods in the sky will beat drums. Ananda, this is the seventh cause and the seventh condition for the great earthquake. Furthermore, Ananda, not long after, when the Thus-Gone One, after three months, passes into the realm of nirvana without remainder, the great earth will shake violently, meteors will fall, sounds will come from all directions, and the gods in the sky will beat drums. Ananda, this is the eighth cause and the eighth condition for the great earthquake. Then, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: "Venerable One, as I understand the meaning of what the Blessed One has said, has the Blessed One now blessed the activity of life, or has he not abandoned the activity of life?" Ananda, it is just so. Ananda, it is just so. Ananda, now the Thus-Gone One has blessed the activity of life, and abandoned the activity of life. Venerable One, I have heard directly from the Blessed One's teachings, and I have personally received that if someone cultivates and diligently practices the four legs of miraculous power, he can remain for a kalpa or more than a kalpa if he wishes. Venerable One, the Blessed One has cultivated and diligently practiced the four legs of miraculous power, so if the Blessed One wishes, he can remain for a kalpa or more than a kalpa. Blessed One, please remain for a kalpa! Well-Gone One, please remain for a kalpa!" After this request. Ananda, you have erred. Ananda, you have made a mistake. Like this, I have spoken to you three times about the vast signs of manifestation, but you have not been able to comprehend the signs, how have you been overcome by the evil demon? Ananda, what do you think? The Thus-Gone One's words of maturation, two

Are you talking about some transformation? No, it's not a Bhikshuni. Good, good. Ananda, there is no place and no time where it doesn't exist; it is the place where the Tathagata speaks of the two transformations of speech that are matured. Then, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Ananda: Ananda, go and gather all the Bhikshus who dwell and reside at the Chapala shrine. The Venerable Ananda, having heard from the Blessed One, "Yes, Venerable, I will do so," gathered all the Bhikshus who dwelt and resided at the Chapala shrine, and then went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and then sat to one side. Having sat to one side, the Venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: Venerable, if the Blessed One thinks that now is the time, then all the Bhikshus who dwell and reside at the Chapala shrine have gathered together. Then, the Blessed One went to the place where the Bhikshus had gathered, and sat on the seat that had been laid out in front of the Bhikshu Sangha. Having sat down, the Blessed One said to the Bhikshus: Bhikshus, all conditioned things are impermanent, unreliable, and subject to change. Bhikshus, one should be weary of all conditioned things, one should renounce them, one should be liberated. Therefore, Bhikshus, those Dharmas that are beneficial and bring happiness in this life, and are also beneficial and bring happiness in the next life, those Dharmas should be held by the Bhikshus, should be perfected, and should be held in such a way, should be included, and should be recited. How can the Brahmacharya (pure conduct) remain here for a long time, benefit many gods and humans, bring happiness to many beings, have compassion for the world, and be for the sake of meaning, benefit, and happiness? Bhikshus, what is the Dharma that is beneficial and brings happiness in this life, and is also beneficial and brings happiness in the next life? Bhikshus, whatever is held and fully understood, should be held in such a way, included, and recited.

Now, whatever Brahmacharya is, it should abide for a long time, benefiting many gods and humans, bringing happiness to many beings, and should be compassionate to the world. Namely: the four mindfulnesses, the four right exertions, the four miraculous feet, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven factors of enlightenment, and the eight noble path factors. Monks, these dharmas are beneficial in this life, bring happiness in this life, and are also beneficial and bring happiness in the next life. Monks, these dharmas should be upheld, should be fully understood, should be upheld in this way, should be placed in the heart, and should be recited. Brahmacharya should abide here for a long time, for the benefit of many beings, for the happiness of many beings, for compassion to the world, for the benefit of gods and humans, for benefit, for happiness, it should be done. Then, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Ananda: Ananda, let us go to the city of Kushinagar. The Venerable Ananda replied to the Blessed One: Blessed One, so be it. Then, the Blessed One turned to the right from the grove of the great city of Vaishali, turning the whole body, looking like an elephant looking back. The Venerable Ananda also turned his whole body to the right towards the Blessed One, seeing like an elephant looking back. Having seen this, the Venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: Venerable One, without cause, without condition, the Tathagata, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, would not turn his whole body to the right, looking like an elephant looking back. Venerable One, what is the cause, what is the condition, that you look back like an elephant? Ananda, it is so. Ananda, it is so. Without cause, without condition, the Tathagata, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, would not turn his whole body to the right, looking like an elephant looking back. Ananda, this is the last time that the Tathagata, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, looks at this great city of Vaishali, and will not go to Vaishali again, near the Mallas, the twin Sala trees
