From that village he went to another place, and he thought: I go from such and such a village to such and such a village, and then I go to such and such a place. Then he went to this village. In the same way, like this, his mind, which is equally placed in this way, is completely pure, completely clean, without fault, free from near afflictions, upright and able to abide, having obtained immovability, in order to manifest the wisdom of remembering previous states, he puts his mind into supernormal knowledge. With the pure, superhuman eye of magic, he sees beings dying, being born, ugly in appearance, not ugly in appearance, bad, good, going to happiness, and going to misery. He fully knows how beings go according to their karma, and he says: These beings are endowed with evil deeds of body, endowed with evil deeds of speech and mind, slandering the noble ones, holding evil views, believing in evil-viewed actions and dharma, because of this cause, because of this condition, after the destruction of the body and the end of life, they fall into evil destinies and evil paths, and are born in the hell of beings.

A man sits at a great crossroads on the road, seeing many people coming and going, standing, sitting, and lying down, abiding in various postures. Likewise, his divine eye is completely pure, surpassing the human realm, up to being reborn as a god as before. He thus abides in a mind of equanimity, completely pure, completely purified, without fault, free from the near afflictions, upright and capable, having attained immovability. In order to see wisdom from the exhaustion of defilements, he directs his mind to various superknowledges. He truly knows, 'This is suffering, the noble truth,' 'This is the origin of suffering,' 'This is the cessation of suffering,' 'This is the path leading to the cessation of suffering, the noble truth.' Knowing and seeing thus, his mind is liberated from the defilement of desire, from the defilement of existence, and from the defilement of ignorance. Having been liberated, he sees the wisdom of 'I am liberated,' 'Birth is exhausted, the holy life has been lived, what had to be done has been done, there is no more beyond this.' For example, not far from a village or hamlet, there is a deep pond of water, not turbid, clear, completely limpid, and a man with eyes sits on the bank, able to see gravel, shards, fish, turtles, or water snakes. Likewise, he thus abides in a mind of equanimity, completely pure, completely purified, without fault, free from the near afflictions, upright and capable, having attained immovability, up to, as before, knowing there is no more beyond this. This is called knowledge. The previous knowledge and these two combined are called knowledge and conduct. In order to manifest this unsurpassed knowledge and conduct possessed by the boy, it should be understood in four ways. What are the four? Here, some Brahmin boys, ascetics, or Brahmins consider that this boy with unsurpassed knowledge and conduct has not yet

Then, going from the village to the monastery, they make a hut of branches and leaves and dwell there. They clamor, 'We live here on roots and fruits.' They live on roots and fruits.
