If he does not see my body, he will vomit hot blood, knowing that he will become a place of death, and soon he will also abandon the aggregates of life. As soon as he abandons the aggregates of life, the earth will also shake in six ways. Meteors will also fall, and the directions will also burn. The gods in the sky will also beat drums, I think. Then, the venerable Mahakashyapa, having blessed his body with various great miracles such as smearing, burning, and discharging electricity, then supported himself with his right elbow, lay down with his feet crossed, and completely entered the realm of nirvana without residue. Then, the gods such as Indra and Brahma thought: Why is it that we are shaken here? When they knew that the venerable Mahakashyapa had passed away, again the gods such as Indra and Brahma, and hundreds of thousands of gods, holding utpala flowers, lotus flowers, pundarika flowers, etc., as well as excellent sandalwood and agarwood powder, went to where the venerable Mahakashyapa's relics were, and after arriving, offered and scattered utpala flowers, lotus flowers, water lilies, beautiful white lotus flowers, as well as excellent sandalwood and agarwood powder on the body of the venerable one, and then covered it with three mountains piled up. Then, the gods were saddened by being separated from the venerable one. Like this, the sadness of our separation from the Bhagavan has not yet subsided, and now the gods dwelling in this banyan tree cave have also encountered obstacles to virtuous Dharma. The kingdom of the king of Magadha has also become empty and without splendor. Now, in the streets of hunger, poverty, and helplessness, there is no protector to help with Maitreya. O beings!
