In that time, people had few desires, few faults, little attachment, little hatred, little ignorance, and their habitual tendencies were weak. Those things were as they should be, and this is not without reason. Like this, the Blessed One was unwilling, but however you prayed, it was accomplished. Therefore, this is the first fault; write it on a wooden board. You have other faults as well. The Blessed One said to Ananda, 'Whoever relies on and cultivates the four legs of miraculous power, practicing them repeatedly, if they wish, they can remain for a kalpa or even longer than a kalpa.' Like this, you did not request the Blessed One, did not request the Blessed One to remain for a kalpa to benefit the world, did not request the Sugata to remain longer than a kalpa. He said, 'Great Venerable Kashyapa, it is not that I am shameless or without scruples. However, at that time, I was overcome by the evil demon.' Like that, that itself is your great fault. The Teacher is one who has abandoned foulness and subdues the power of demons with his might. How could you be overcome by the evil demon? Therefore, this is your second fault. Furthermore, you have these faults. After the Blessed One gave an order, the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda, 'Like this,' and after saying that, when others spoke, you answered with something else. Like that, this is also your third fault. Furthermore, you have these faults. You trampled on a single golden-colored robe of the Blessed One with your feet. 'Great Venerable Kashyapa, it is not that I am shameless, or rather, not completely shameless. At that time, there were no monks helping from the left or right.' He said, 'What harm have you done to the sky that you do not discard it? What if the gods were to take it?' This is your fourth fault. Furthermore, you have these faults. The Blessed One entered into nirvana, and under the twin sala trees, you drank sour beverages and muddy water. Great Venerable Kashyapa, shame

Although it was not shamelessness or extreme impudence, at that time, about five hundred chariots crossed the Kakus River, making it turbid. Therefore, it is your fault. Why didn't you hold the alms bowl in the sky at that time? That the gods filled it with water endowed with eight qualities is also your fifth fault. Furthermore, you have these faults: The Blessed One said that when I recite the Pratimoksha every half month, if someone raises minor precepts and trivial matters, the Sangha should relax and enjoy the touch of comfort. But at that time, you did not ask what the minor precepts and trivial matters were. Therefore, here I say that, apart from the four Parajikas, the thirteen Sanghavasesas, the two Aniyatas, the thirty Nissaggiya Pacittiyas, the ninety Pacittiyas, the four Patidesaniyas, and the many Siksapadas, the rest are minor and trivial. Others say this: From the four Parajikas to the four Patidesaniyas as before, and beyond these, are minor and trivial. Others say this: Apart from the four Parajikas, the thirteen Sanghavasesas, the two Aniyatas, the thirty Nissaggiya Pacittiyas, and the ninety Pacittiyas, the rest are minor and trivial. Others say this: Apart from the four Parajikas, the thirteen Sanghavasesas, the two Aniyatas, and the thirty Nissaggiya Pacittiyas, the rest are minor and trivial. Others say this: Apart from the four Parajikas, the thirteen Sanghavasesas, and the two Aniyatas, the rest are minor and trivial. Therefore, the Bhikshu, from understanding to abiding in the four Parajikas, and some abide in the thirteen Sanghavasesas.
