Admonishing to give offerings and show respect, they also proclaimed similarly: 'Hey, listen, you people who have come from the royal palace (Rājagṛha), cities, and various places! The deity has spoken thus: In my land, all the many people who have come from cities and various places should give offerings and show respect at all the places of the yakshas.' Many people residing in the royal palace (Rājagṛha) swept the cities of stones, tiles, and earth, sprinkled them with sandalwood water, and hung fragrant incense burners separately. They hung victory banners, divine streamers, and many silk ribbons, and scattered various flowers, making the gods' pleasure garden as beautiful as Tushita. Then, having given offerings and shown respect at all the places of the yakshas, however, the Joyful Mother did not become pacified. Then, the deities residing in the royal palace (Rājagṛha) said to the many people residing in the royal palace (Rājagṛha): 'Hey, the yakshini Joyful Mother is stealing your sons, you should all go to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One will tame her.' They said, 'Hey, she is not the Joyful Mother, she is the Robber, she gives birth to our children and steals those who are born.' Thus, her name Joyful Mother was changed to the yakshini Robber. Then, many people residing in the royal palace (Rājagṛha) went to where the Blessed One was, and upon arriving, prostrated with their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and pleaded: 'Blessed One, this yakshini Robber has been unkind, hostile, and resentful to many people in the royal palace (Rājagṛha) for a long time. She gives birth to children and steals those who are born. Blessed One, compassionate one, out of compassion, please tame the yakshini Robber.' The Blessed One, as if saying nothing, granted it to the many people residing in the royal palace (Rājagṛha). Then, many people residing in the royal palace (Rājagṛha)

Those people, knowing that the Blessed One had acted as if he were not speaking, bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and then departed from the Blessed One. Then, in the morning, the Blessed One put on his inner garment and Dharma robes, took his bowl, and went to Rajagriha (present-day Rajgir, Bihar) for alms. After begging for alms in Rajagriha, he returned and did the eating. Abandoning the leftover food after the meal, he went to the place where the Yaksha woman Hariti was. At that time, the Yaksha woman Hariti had left her son Priyamkara at home and had gone to a place of enjoyment. The Blessed One covered Priyamkara with his bowl and blessed him, saying, 'Just as the boys cannot see him, he will be able to see all of them.' Immediately, the Yaksha woman Hariti came back from the place of enjoyment, and Priyamkara was not visible. She abandoned that place and looked around the house, but still could not see him. (She said) 'Children, Priyamkara is not visible, what to do?' They also said, 'We did not see him either, we ourselves did not see him.' Having said that, she beat her chest, her face pale, unhappy, her eyes filled with tears, and ran quickly, searching in the villages, markets, streets, crossroads, and three-way intersections of Rajagriha, as well as in gardens, groves, lakes, ponds, temples, assembly halls, and other narrow places, but still could not find him. Then, without her upper garment, she went mad, crying and wailing, 'Alas, my son! Alas, my father! Alas, Priyamkara!' Repeatedly uttering these sounds, she looked in the villages, cities, suburbs, palaces, and around the palaces, but still could not find him. Then she went to the great ocean in the east. She went to the southern, western, and northern oceans. She was not visible in those eastern, southern, western, and northern places either. Then her hair became disheveled, she became naked, her gait faltered, sometimes jumping, sometimes falling to the ground. Walking on her knees, squatting and sitting, in this way she crossed the seven black mountains of Jambudvipa, then the seven golden mountains, and the snow mountains.

She searched in the great Anavatapta lake and in the fragrant mountains, and then, crying loudly, she searched in the eastern Purvavideha, the western Aparagodaniya, and the northern Uttarakuru, but she did not find him. Then she searched in the hells of rebirth, black thread, aggregation, wailing, great wailing, burning, extreme burning, uninterrupted, blisters, extreme blisters, saying 'Ata Ata,' Hahava, Huvuva, Utpala-like, and great lotus-like, but she did not find him. Then she ascended the first level of Mount Meru, then the second and third. Then, without asking the Yaksha lord Susthita, she searched in the abode of the Thirty-three Gods, and also in the pleasure gardens called Various Tree Chariots, Harsh, Mixed, and Joyful. She also went to the Parijata Kovida tree. Then she entered the assembly of the gods called Sudharma Hall, which appeared as the city of Sudarshana. Then she began to go to the palace of Indra, the lord of the gods, the city of Victory, and there she was seized by many Yakshas, including the Yaksha Vajrapani, and a thousand gods. She quickly came out of the city of Sudarshana, and cried for a long time in another direction, and in short, she became discouraged, and then she went to the Yaksha lord Susthita, and threw her body on the stone slab, and wailed, saying, 'Alas, my son! Alas, my father! Alas, Joyful!' She lamented, saying, 'Great chieftain, who has stolen him? If you do not like him, please give him back!' The great Yaksha king Susthita said, 'Stop grieving and wipe away your tears! Stay in your abode during the day and think about who came.' She said, 'It was the great chieftain, the Shramana Gautama.' He said, 'Go to the Blessed One for refuge, and the Blessed One will show you your son Joyful.' She hurried back to her abode as if she had regained what she had lost. The Yaksha woman was displeased to hear the thirty-two marks of the great man of the Buddha, the Blessed One.
