After she was beaten, she anointed her body with mustard oil and lay down on a latticed bed. The Bhikshunis saw her and asked, "Holy Mother, what offense have you committed?" She said, "I was beaten." They asked, "By whom?" She said, "By the Holy Group of Six." "What did you do?" She said, "Those brothers and sisters are the kind who speak ill, how could they teach and instruct a sister?" The Bhikshunis became scornful, "How can a Bhikshu beat a Bhikshuni?" When that happened, the Bhikshunis told the Bhikshus, and the Bhikshus reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One considered, "It is wrong for Bhikshus to beat Bhikshunis." Therefore, a Bhikshu should not beat a Bhikshuni.
